Freo playing ok seeing as they basically gave up on this game at team selection.

Pies looking pretty good too.

Sets up a massive game next week.

Both teams in good form.

Would've preferred more breathing space between us and the Pies but not unhappy to see the lowly teams continue to lose. Helps to reduce the field of potential finalists. I'd say any team heading into their bye with 4-5 wins is basically out of finals contention, considering the logjam at 7-8 wins.

At least, the Scum winning will ensure 85,000+ next week. Two teams flying.

We should account for them easily, but how will we respond to Lever's injury? That's the big question.

Watching Collingwood, it's likely watching 15 or so ANB's run around. They get a fair bit of it but turn it over under very little pressure. It'll be interesting to see how they go against our pressure if we bring it.

With Nth possibly finishing as high as 6th after this round... how is it that ‘Melbourne hasn’t beaten anyone yet...’??

You don't understand; North weren't good yet when we beat them. How could they have been? I mean, they lost to Melbourne!

Everyone we have beaten are below us, and we have only lost once to teams above us.

It only seems like yesterday that every team was above us

Only 2 goals for Ben Brown.

Hogan now just 4 goals off the Coleman lead.

Hoskin- Idiot has 6 now. Where does that leave him? cant believe Hoges is 13/1 on ladbrokes.

Pies didn't play the game out at the end and the Dockers did a nice job of whittling back Pies %.

GWS taking it right up to the Crows.  If GWS win they boot Crows out of the 8.  Even if GWS lose, a small loss helps our cause for finals.

So, Huge, Huge game vs Pies next week.

We win and we have 9 wins - 2 wins and good % ahead of next weeks 6th, 7th, 8th and looking good for top 4 (with a double chance and at least one Home final at the G).

Lose and we will be in the pack of 4/5 teams on 8 wins.

We owe the pies for rnd 23, 2017.  Lets hope that still burns deep in our team and they wreak their revenge.  Will be happy with any win!

This cripple fight in Adelaide is not pleasing on the eyes.

But as I type, a sweet hit from 55.

Geez, I hope GWS don't awaken

I am with you. I am going for the crows in this one.

We play them round 23. It would be great if they were out of finals contention and taking it easy with stars coming back.

OMG the maggots are [censored] scared of letting GW$$ beating Adelaide in front of their crowd.

At least it is a close game unlike the boring runaways this afternoon.

GWS winning is not a great an outcome as some might think. Get Greene back into that team and they're dangerous.

I am supporting them, today, in response to the Crows' supporters schadenfreude over OUR Jack Lever's injury!

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
