When we played the crows at Adelaide oval last year, that was the most true  reflection on how the two sides match up together we beat them by 40 points both sides were at full strength.

Actually, we played without Max and still smashed them in the stoppages.

Yes I know and hogan was not playing either, so maybe this game is the true reflection of the 2 sides, either way we smashed them. stupid crows hated them ever since 1998, when they stole the flag, with a stupid final 8 system back then

I love watching the game on the tv when they cut into the Adelaide coaches box and they’re all looking shell shocked with no answers.

But the media can still say, Melbourne have still not beaten any side above them.

Meanwhile on the Bulldogs bigfooty "changes for round 11 v Melbourne" thread, they're steeling themselves for a fighting underdog rebound .....

We are deadset screwed next week. Melbourne should be planning for a 100pts + win

They are already 48 points up on Adelaide at HT FFS.  Going to get ugly. What will reduce the margin is the Dogs having two extra days break, them travelling back from NT.  Etihad is not an advantage anymore against them. They beat us easily there in 2017.

Melbourne will be the best team we've played this year, looking awesome today: pace, excellent field-kicking, goal-kicking - all those things we lack really. All those early draft picks and some astute recruiting have created an impressive line-up.

So far this year we have kicked 97 goals, Demons have kicked 160. We're screwed. All we can do is stack the team with defenders and hope for the best.

At what stage to we plead the mercy rule we have kicked 10 goals the last 2 weeks they have kicked close to 50 goals so if that average applies 25 goals to 5 goals 120 point margin.

Whats the default losing margin for not turning up in football? In soccer it is 3 - nil which is pretty good when you're certain to get smacked by 20 - 0.

Logically Melbourne should be winning this easily, but they’re definitely due for a down game, it will be an 8 day break versus a 6 day break in warm weather and they’re coming up against a team where they will be unbackable favourites.

Here’s a fun fact. 21 quarters is the record for most quarters won in a row in AFL history.  If Melbourne win all 4 quarters against us they are the new record holders.

But apart from that they’re fairly optimistic...

It’s amazing what some beltings do. Like peak Hawthorn and Grant Thomas’ Saints, half the battle is won before the ball is bounced.

Meanwhile . . . over at the Crow's supporter site:

  • Everyone has down weeks.josh Jenkins has one every week1f602.png?I'm at the stage where I can only laugh at his selection each week.
    Potential doesn't win premierships
  • Injuries are one thing but still it was 22 vs 22 there was no heart there whatsoever absolutely disgusting performance we should worry less about posting levers stats and which draft pick we are gonna get from Melbourne (re early this year) and worry about our own team
  • Unfortunately into the first 4 minutes of the game you knew they would be thrashed. Looked like they hadn't slept all night and came out as if they weren't even trying. Just like the Grand Final. Very lethargic xx.
  • Can't say it wasn't unexpected... end of day Melbourne are finally a seriously good footy side. We are average...clearly making up the numbers this year.
  • If we were going to lose a game glad it was Melbourne love there coach Goodwin he was one of our own early days long way to go we will come back bad day at the office we all have them
  • Make them [censored] walk home. No [censored] pride in this club any more.
  • Looked like a training drill for Melbourne.
  • Not a good day, I can't see Sloane and lynch staying either. I reckon their gone
  • I shake my head every time I see Jenkins efforts
  • The useless coach who had no Plan B and decided to just STARE at the players...?? Like Pykey, they can't read your mind mate.
  • Nothing like dropping from 4th to 7th and losing almost 16% dishing up that 1f4a9.png?
  • It's 3 poor games. We need more Victorians.
  • Playing with a B grade side and Melbourne had it's A side. Move on.
  • Might as well support Melbourne enough of our players are with then
  • Lever was the big winner today
  • I have said all along that Pyke is a “B” grade version of Neil Craig.
  • Doesn’t help that we have our reserves playing against a full strength Melbourne team.
  • On the upside, looks like the stare is back in vogue. On ya Pykey, inspiring stuff.
  • Premiership pretenders again
  • Maybe a [censored] play on our behalf but [censored] the umpires are playing for Melbourne today.

What's the crows supporters site? Would love to read more!

the team that performed so well in last year's gf ?

In fairness they did get there - we had yet to do that for far too long, and haven’t performed nearly as well as they did for 53 years ?

I love that (rarely experienced in the last few years) Monday night ritual of getting drunk and listening to the media talk us up after a big win.

well the media certainly is not holding back, we are the flavour of the Monday night footy programs. Praise is wildly enthusiastic.

It would be just like the mfc of the last heartbreaking 10 years, to be set up now for one big massive fail.

it won’t  happen , we are past that. This is the new beginning

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
