Lets hope the umpires don't give lots of frees against Max like his 'straight arm' ruck work, like last time we played the saints- wasn't it StK that complained to the AFL about Max's style not long before the game.  Poor sportsmanship compounded by the AFL/umpires blindsiding the mfc and Max about his 'faulty' technique.

Hope Max wreaks some revenge.  And hope we we thrash them for their poor sportsmanship in whinging to the AFL.

Dees with a percentage boosting win!

Maybe Max should invest in a neck tattoo?

I know its a case of if my aunty had 8Alls.......but if max kicked true against geelong we woyld be playing 4 fifth spot today. Just saying ....maybe its not so bad despite my own doom and gloom......medications starting to kick in in.

There are two simple options on the table...

Beat St. Kilda

Or

Become them.

The media, with incessant demands for website clicks, viewers and readers, need a team each week who is 'doomed' or 'disappointing'. They will be all over us like stink on a monkey should we drop this one.

The media are waiting for us to stuff up today. Some said yesterday imagine if Melbourne drop the game tomorrow. This is a game we all know we should win and win well but not at all surprised if we drop it.

I just hope we are past that stage. Today we need to to and win well. Get that percentage up and get a 2 game buffer on the teams below us.

Cannot wait. I expect Maxy to dominate the ruck and our midfield to be to strong.

Going to Shiddihad today but I am not confident. Saints will have intensity and if we start like we did against the bombers we will be down by 4 goals at half time.

Interesting St Kilda have gone in with 2 ruckman who are both over 200cm tall. They have a pretty experienced and tall backline, so our forwards need to be really switched on from the get go. Feel like this would have been the perfect game for jeffy..

Armitage coming in gives them more experience and a hard body around the contest.

Think this will be a closer game then many people think.

It's the wife's birthday so I can't make it.... might try sneak a few quarters on TV.

Really got to come out and put the Saints away. There are no stand out sides in this competition and everyone seems to be inconsistent (except the Tigers and Eagles). So we've got a huge chance over the next 3 weeks to establish ourselves as contenders.

She's had birthdays before and she'll have them again. Why do wives think their silly birthday is more important than a big dees win over the saints ?? Go to the game and enjoy it.

The Saints have had a week of 'soul searching' and 'home truths' so I'd expect them to come out hard.  Withstand their early flurry, get the game on our terms, and then let our superior talent dictate terms.

We’ve had countless of these soul searching sessions in the past and it’s meant SFA  so it’s important to destroy their confidence early and watch them unravel.

Today is about percentage. A close win or a loss of any kind will be an abject failure by players and coaches. We need to start winning games against bottom sides, and winning them well.

Dees by 50 points

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
