A few blokes down this week.

Petracca, Salem and possibly Hogan. Massive danger game v's the Saints.

Hogan will play.

If he came up after 5 days and also played out the game.

Trac is only 7 days post his last game, so hopefully he comes up.

Lucky we have a bye at VFL level .. might have had difficulty fielding a team and thus needed some Demonlanders to pull on the boots.

I reckon he will play.

Unlikely with his injury. As stated could have lost his finger.  The injury was very serious.

Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch is out for a month, and Christian Petracca has undergone more surgery – full updates on #AFL360 tonight @FOXFOOTY

MORE SURGERY???

i recall reading of a finger dog bite that when not treated, bruised the entire vein in arm as it got into blood stream. Could've been deadly if not treated immediately. Not an injury to be messed with.

I think they’ll err on the side of caution and give him the extra week.  A lot will depend on the damage that the infection did.

Infections are amazing with the speed in which they set in and the speed with which they can respond to treatment.  The infection would be gone by now, so it comes down to healing and recovery from it’s effects.

He still has 5 days, if can get a full training session under his belt he should be ok.

When first hearing this I accused young Petracca of being negligent in the sense of his failure to notify club doctors etc.

For that I apologise as it would seem to be untrue.

Good luck young man... infections kill .... lucky it was caught.

Football is only a game or at best your profession. Health and family are so much more important.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
