Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

A bit of unecessary vitriol from some.

Grow up.

I wish him all the best for a speedy 6-8 week recovery, when it's all mended and he's ready to go, he's not amune from a month in the magoo's. Recover your touch son and work your butt off to get back in the side.

How is he out of form? He Was the highest possession winner against North and one of the main reasons we beat Brisbane.

Are you basing his drop in form from Sunday when he played with a broken hand?

Timely for selection purposes.

Three year deal if I remember correctly. However I think it was always understood that the third year would see him ease into coaching. That now looks more likely to be sooner. He is far too slow now, broken hand or not. Don't expect to see a lot of him on field in the second half of this year.

Trading lesson 101: the Hawks never give much away unless there is much to be gained (such as a rare commodity like a good ruck man).

Played terribly v Hawks, so did 90% of the team. Played very well v North and from what the club said they were happy with his role v Brissy. He's an important player but for me he's not doing enough. Maybe this time off gives him a chance to get a few other niggles right, and he can maybe lend his experience in the coaching box.

That might be a balanced perspective .

Probably means that one of the serial 2018 under performers like Harmes, Melksham, ANB, Bugg or even Fritsch will be spared the axe.

Tough on Fritsch who was still trying to make things happen in the final quarter against Hawthorn and who has contributed every other week. No argument otherwise.

Blessing in disguise Bee. Let's not hide away from that.

I have no issues at all that Jordans form has been down. He may have warranted a 'freshener' in the Magoos , but the sheer nastiness from some is not welcome for mine.

Yes I was extremely tough and unfair on Fritsch as he was trying in the last qtr compared to about 18 others.

However, he's having little influence on games apart from the odd nice cameo and may have to make way for Hannan to mix things up. Such is the tough position that is the forward pocket.

Some have Garlett on the chopping block, but he survives purely because he has a proven track record of responding after a horrid performance....and that was horrid V's Hawks.

This is a blow to me.

Yep he had a shocker last week but he's been one our more consistent players at impacting the game early in the season. His ball use is still so much better then a lot of our young players. He more often then not at least makes the right decision by foot even if he misqueues occasionally.

On the big stage in a heated game its always useful to have cool calm heads who use the ball effectively off half back. A steadier down back that will miss a chance next Wednesday to bounce back after a terrible game.

Perhaps sadly Ernest I have got to the point with the MFC that I don't care about the individual anymore. Over the last 50 years numerous playing groups have completely worn away my " care factor for the individual" we have paid top ups to so many end of their time players over the years that my attitude is close to " if you cannot cut it get out of the road and let someone else have a go"

I am only interested in winners over hill players can nick off.

Brutal ? Yes.

Brutally fair OD.

Broke his hand playing footy for our club, all the best for his recovery.

Agreed.

While I don't want him playing senior footy at the moment, it certainly was not my hope that he is forced out of the team with injury.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
