His tackle on Danger nearly broke every bone in his body. Number 1 ranked player in a final. ?

Truth be told, I squibbed it and turned off the 3rd quarter... did this happen in the third?

Also, a few reports of Jetta v Danger... were some of those one on ones in the third??

Great game by weid, so happy to see it, especially loved his aggression.

But to say we can’t fit all of him, hogan and tmac is short sighted in my opinion,

just because the tigers are going well with mainly smaller forwards, doesn’t mean everyone else has too!!

the game changes and develops, and new trends come and go. You just play your style and tactics and if we start the new trend of playing 3 mobile talls, and win a flag, then I guarantee everyone else will Start to ask why shouldn’t we play 3 talls.

Tigers are getting Lynch for a reason. Big forwards win games and most importantly finals. Yes Tigers and Dogs did it with just one key forward, but it’s an anomaly in a game with a 160 year history.

You need big forwards and we are lucky that all of ours are mobile.

I was also so impressed with how Weids was rucking. Really gave us a good chop out and gives Max more time to float down back or rest forward.

Everything is coming up Weideman!

And Preuss!

I think Jesse goes to a wing and pushes forward at times. Same as T Mac!

So happy to fully admit I was wrong with weid.Perhaps I was just too influenced by past players that never stepped up. Stoked fr him.. stoked fr the club.

We do def have a strange set of problems fr next year though. Not only tmac, weid, hogan and possibly preuss. But also frost, Oscar and lever down the other end. Because surely now frosts value is widely seen. X factor. Surely we can’t plsy ALL these guys all at once. Fascinating to see how this pans out.

Wonderful game. Makes the hogan trade talk very interesting.

Not for me it doesn’t.

If Hogan wants to stay, he stays.

And let’s not derail a thread about a kid who played his best game in front of 91k.

Geelong struggled with 2 mobile key talls. Hawthorn are scrambling now to come up with a second key defender. Imagine if they had to find a third. Game styles evolve based on your best 18 players. We happen to have 7 talls in ours who are all mobile and endurance beasts. Might be tough in the wet but on a dry day in September, talls get taller in the 4th.

mobile forwards don't grow on trees and we have not one, not two, but THREE of em!

I agree it's madness 2 entertain trading Hogan he is mobile and has a tank as does TMAC.

We can play him Tom & the Weed because of exactly that.

I'd be making sure because his value to other clubs will have gone off the charts in the last few weeks.

This morning, Eddie McGuire's toast tastes like ashes and his coffee is exceptionally bitter. Moore was supposed to be their Weideman but he picked the wrong father-son hero.

Easily. Jesse would dominate as a roving third tall, his tank would allow him to run between mid and forward and create a real nightmare for opposition match-ups.

Jesse has good hands and is cool under close attention.

I think he could be a powerhouse Inside Mid-R/R, and half-forward, rotating that spot with Petracca.

I can't believe how good Sam was. Absolutely insane. 3 goals, 24 disposals, 7 marks, 3 contested, 2 marks inside 50, 4 tackles, 2 clearances 70% disposal efficiency.

I knew he had talent, but for him to rise to the occasion in an elimination finals game, and be one of our best is so awesome for Weed's momentum and confidence going forward. So excited to see how he develops further. Not sure how we fit all of Weed + Hogan + Tmac into the side.

If those stats were presented out of context as those of an unnamed KPF, you might think they belonged to Reiwoldt (either of them), Roughead or Goodes. That's my way of saying he belongs in the big time.

Harsh

No doubt with Jesse not being the required target the team balance has changed and we’ve become more threatening probably because we’re less predictable.

Jesse had been going up the ground more to become a more versatile player prior to his injury and when you consider his better application to chasing and tackling this year, the signs are there that he will be a real contributor next year.

Long Live Jesse !

If Jesse was to play high Half-forward/Mid, he could afford to lose 6 Kgs IMV,  which be better on his leg joints.  And he would be an absolute wrecking ball like this,  thru the midfield...  where he suited, thru the fat part of the ground.

If I was his manager I wouldn't let him get stuck in the VFL for half of next year after his performances of the last three weeks.

Neither would this club... we've put so much work into him. We have to resign/extend him, this year.

Needs to do what Gawn did last preseason.

He wont lose any strength, but he will be a lot more durable.

its not hogans talent, its his attitude. weideman is far better for our team dynamic. people are naive if they think that its coincidence we are playing our best footy as soon as hogan left the team.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
