90% of us are optimistic about the future 10% of the community are pessimists and so far away from the thinking inside the club it’s not funny - it’s time to cut them loose

the 10% think football is a religion or a political party - no it’s just a game

I’m with you suppose ultimately players are just trying to do the best for themselves and their families. Try to play the best footy they can because you life playing the game is so short.

Port have some good talls so Jack will slot in nicely . 50 goals and a prelim at least this year for Jack .

Without wanting to labour the point, how nice would it have been to have had a player who can kick a goal from a set shot at the end of a game or one who could find a team mate's chest with a pass rather than trying to bounce one on his head all day?

I thought it would have been nice to have had more players taking contested marks and applying forward tackling pressure. I.e - not Jack.

It was a standard Watts game. He had plenty of those games for us as well. He probably still would have delivered the same for us this year but he wasn't in Goodwin's plans.

Yeah Blokes that use the ball very well don't seem to be in Goodwins plans. We play plenty of the others that Do not!

10 possessions, 0 goals.  The wrist slitting by many posters on here after Watts kicked  a few goals last week in a blowout win was truly embarrassing.

Give me Bayley Fritsch any day.

10 Possesions, 5 tackles, 0 goals playing a role in a team that beat Sydney in Sydney. If Bayley Fritsch does that for us I’ll be ecstatic.

Hell I’ll be happy if Bayley plays any role in us beating Sydney anywhere!

He was back to his insipid best.

No marks, no goals, no influence.  And you'd be ecstatic with a game like that ?

Nothing surprises me on here.

I was trying to look for him and barely saw him at all except for the odd handball here and there.

He's such a great kick and only getting one per quarter he'd want it to be a bloody ripper

People are missing the importance of Jack in Port's structure yesterday!

Having him forward enabled Hinkley to make the match winning move of Dixon to ruck the 2nd half, without leaving a gaping hole in forward 50.  He also took a key defender which enabled a young kid (Todd Marshall) to kick 3 goals.  And, Jack's hand pass to Boake for his first goal helped spark the turnaround to win the game.

I'm sure people will get a lot of laughs this year from looking at Jack's stats and ridiculing him.  But that just shows they probably haven't watched the game and don't understand the role Hinkley is asking of him.

TBH, I just don't get the lingering antipathy towards him.  We pushed him out.  He is gone.  You don't need to wish him well.  But this petty ridicule just makes posters look mean spirited.

Except Jack Watts wouldn't have taken the mark that Gawn did in the first place.

Logic is not allowed in here.

Please let the people mourn over the loss of an absolute superstar who is 100% irreplaceable cos he is just so amazing and has single handedly taken Port to another level.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
