Good  point - trident area is the quietest spot to sit..... If you make any real noise all you get is glares... least there is a bar close

Lol I used to be a trident member had a fellow member tell me to sit down once after I stood up to cheer a goal, i never got the whole stereotype of the Melbourne supporter being toffs and going to the snow and all that until I sat in that area in Olympic stand, I now have a reserved seat in southern stand but barely use it would rather go standing room area behind the goals

Total now 27,914......strangely.... exactly the same number as at 9 December last year.

Interesting that in late October the tally was over 6,000 behind last year and now has caught up and will be ahead by the same date.

Maybe automatic renewals hadn't gone through or something. It's a big catch up. Otherwise who is it? We had Lever by then so its not him. Take your pick on our draftees. I'm going Oscar B. It's the hair. It's worth over 6,000 new members. Or it could be that Clarry has created a frenzy around Ranga's.

Judging by comments here on DL quite a few were 'holding off' their renewals due to disappointment at season's end, hence the early poor numbers.  But some have commented they have since signed up anyway!  Extrapolate that over the whole membership base and it adds up.

Have often thought being a Demon supporter is like an addiction...we keep going back for more regardless of the hangover:blink: and a membership is part of the deal...

Hopefully, we will be rewarded before too long.

My reward is a power team that wins 80% of it's games and plays finals every year. Winning a GF is beyond my expectations now.

This year will be my 10 year consecutive membership (dropped off in the early 2000's). Do we get recognition for 10 years consecutive membership. My "mate" is a EFC member and just clocked up his 20 yr membership and he got the most pathetic badge to commemorate (you couldn't hardly even see the 20 yr writing), he was so incensed he wrote numerous letters to the membership committee. I would love to get something better, just to wear around the office to rub it in. But also it's would be a nice thank you from our club too.

Hope it isn't so, od.

If we make finals for next 5 years, play off in a few prelims and not get to nor win the big dance then we can all go to AA to get over our addiction and memberships be damned.  Couldn't bear another rebuild...:(

You get a certificate that is 'signed' by a laser printer...

Anything is possible LH just look at the last two years.

It is just what will make me happy.

I just need to go to games believing we have a very good chance of winning and then doing it the most weeks.

I just want to walk away from games proudly displaying my MFC allegiance.

If something better happened then I will be very happy but I dont need it like I did 20 years ago.

What I really really need is for my Grand Daughters to grow up in a safe world.

Keep them away from Richmond supporters. That should help.

You are luckier in Sydney than we are in Adelaide, as far as airfares go. We can sometimes get a cheap one-way flight to Tulla but usually it is a way out single direction to Avalon. The return trip costs up to 6 times the discount fare paid to get to Melbourne and seldom are there 'both ways' tickets at discount. To achieve these 'discounts' and airline profit opportunities, we usually must travel on a Wednesday and return on a late Sunday flight that would be readied overnight for a return to Melbourne on Monday morning. That means finding relatively cheap accommodation Wed,Thurs, Fri and Sat - usually about $240/night. For two, it is expensive. We drive over quite a bit to see the Dees, averaging about 6 or 7 trips per year and each trip takes about 10 hours each way at the speed limits. Still, we love our footy and team so we sacrifice. At least we get some reasonable TV and cable coverage, these days. Combine our Memberships with a pie and a beer at the game, and car rentals if we fly, then we have a millionaire's hobby to contend with just to stay in touch with our interest. Is that any way to treat a 'purebred' Melbourne boy in his retirement? Hahahahaha ha....

Try Airbnb. You should be able to get $80-100/night close to the “G”!

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Gentle flush session at Gosch's this morning. Absent: May, Pickett (All Stars) McVee, McAdam. Rehabbing: Great to see Kentfield back (much slimmer), walking with Tholstrup, TMac (suspect just a management thing), Viney (still being cautious with that rib cartilage?), Melksham (

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
