Bottom line is we only 1 player to get double digits .. Oliver a second year player..  there were clubs who finished below us who polled more.. understand it's about team etc but we lack genuin guns! Our drafting continues to hurt us Kelly 21pts, Wines 19 ...

Not that the brownlow means too much as votes are primarily given to mids however it does show where we are as a club.

Our 25-30 yo player group never developed and we are relying on our 20 yo players to do the heavy lifting.

We will be a genuine threat when the 20-21-22 yo player group develops together. Still need another 3 years.

viney, hogan, hunt, Salem, trac, brayshaw, o mcd, weid, Oliver.

All can be stars and if they develop properly constitutes half of our side.

Quite a lot on innuendo in those " " quotation marks.  Not one of your better efforts.

Fitzy was a guest of another player or dare I say partner (without quotation marks).

Molloy is a panelist on the Ch7 footy show.

...and no idea how they vote!!!

The entire Brownlow ceremony is 99% fluff and padding as those of us who remember the call on radio from days long since passed. (And even that was high fluff factor for the times.)

They could do the whole thing in 10 minutes. Do a countdown of the top 10 scores, announce the winner. Then give a spreadsheet with all the numbers to the papers.

It could be done the way they do press conferences when a player announces he's re-signed, or has retired. A short statement, a few questions, then pub.

But they like to frizz it up with their ideas of entertainment ... red carpet, GOTY, roaming Fevolas, etc, etc.

Who cares if they invite a few glamours and their arm candy?

Nice of the umpires to not give Danger any votes in round 22 to ensure he didn't win and embarrass the AFL!

Rnd 22 - Dangerfield:  32 disposals, 12 clearances and two goals.  BOG from every other award voters.

Umpires colluding is even more embarrassing than Danger winning - that it is not in the spotlight does not make it less unethical.

It's an AFL issue ... backed up by a cooperative media.  And the footy public don't care enough either.

It's convenient for the AFL for the umpires to take the heat ... although the heat dies down quite quickly anyway.

And to think no other club wanted Dusty last time he was ooc.

We overlooked him on draft night, didn't try to get him a couple of years ago.

Great.

He was set to leave until Caroline Wilson wright rumors about his lifestyle in the age, then everyone got cold feet

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
