Think talks are progressing nicely, our two main targets were landed long ago.

However, cant help but get the feeling we are pushing hard for a FA or gorilla minder to complete our backline.

As I said weeks ago Watts is 90% gone we just have to get the right deal to make it happen. Stringer not off the cards but think he is looking elsewhere for the right club that can offer him support off the ground.

It is not his place to comment

Just very very disappointing

Or do you think, he is just getting his price up for us

You have to be joking. Surely. If so well played. the key to a comedic role is staying in character.

If not joking i'm not sure what to think?  Stringer not off the cards? For the dees? Or do you mean he is still gambling?

He never was on the cards at the demons and never will be.  Looking for a club that can offer him support off the ground? Suitors are falling away like the zeros on Stingers next contract. The last club standing seems to be the bombers. And haven't they had just a brilliant history of looking after the welfare of it's players.

All that said i will give you the Watts prediction.

...

Lever and ... ? Do you still think Gaff?

We still have to satisfy both clubs. I can't see, the way things stand at the moment, how we can satisfy both clubs.

If we can get pick 6 for Watts & pick 10, we might be able to add it to a third rounder for Lever and save a second rounder. But a mid-second-rounder won't be enough for Gaff, and apart from Hogan, I can't see who we've got that WCE would want. Kent and a second rounder is unders for Gaff.

Some might think you are being a tad generous by saying Watts, Pick 10 and 3rd round pick, in exchange for Lever.

Goodwin just interviewed on pre-game coverage for the Grand Final on change 7. He was quite open when asked about trades.

Asked about Lever, said we were obviously interested and if Crows win they would give him a few days to celebrate before they contact him. Joked his manager probably won't call him for a few days too while he celebrates.

Asked about Watts, said the club was happy for Jack to explore his options but was welcome back at the club if he didn't find what he was looking for. They then mentioned Watts was in Port Adelaide seeing their facilities and having some meetings and what he thought of that. Goodwin said he was happy for Jack to explore his options, as he's had 9 years at MFC and a lot of pressure to deal with. Said a different environment may be good for him.

Based off that interview, Watts is gone. 100% gone if the club get a decent offer. Lever is a clear target for us and we are probably a fair way down negotiating that move. Both Watts out and Lever in seem to be pretty much done deals.

My gut says Lever is a formality awaiting happening.

Watts....might well depend upon the deal offer , not just Jack , but the Club !!. Probability ?...very likely atm

Interesting. Have never heard a club speak like this.

Is it over?

Modern football. Seems he is gone though.

I'd love him to say to Goody, 'I'm not going anywhere and I'm going to work my ass off and help lift this club'. Instead it seems he is content to just move on instead.

If he was 100% gone Goodwin would not offer the carrot to stay if he wants...

on that basis it is over ...no question

The only way Jack will stay is if no one wants him and that is not really a good result for anyone including Jack.

To say I am not happy about Goodwin's management of Jack is an understatement

I'm happy with it. He sets standards and what he wants a player to put in. The crows have zero top 10 picks and they are in a Grand Final. They've built that on club culture which trumps talent every day of the week.

They would if that's what I said.

Watts and pick 10 go to Pies for their pick 6. Then we use pick 6, which by my calculation is better than pick 10, and a third rounder to get Lever. See?

It IS what you said

Out: Pick ten, Watts, 3rd rounder

In: Lever.

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
