Salem might miss a few games after his hit on a player in the VFL, so this may not happen.

Was I also led to believe that Hogan is a chance next weekend as well?

Was Salem actually reported ?  I dont believe so.

Lets not kid ourselves, StKilda were as bad as a I can remember a team in the 1st quarter.

Didn't watch Port Adelaide get done by 85 points in the wet last week, or Freo flogged by 100 points yesterday?

Saints didn't handle the pressure, but thats because we brought it.

I can't handle the negativity around here at the moment. It's pathetic (and boring).

OK thanks WB. Didnt someone say Salem would be ok and wasnt even reported?

Unsure about Hogan, but would be nice to have all 3 of those back. Pedo stays in, put him on a wing if need be, team plays better with him in it for whatever reason but as Clint said, Gawn forward and Pedo in ruck looks much more dangerous

You could be right there, I haven't looked at it since the Casey thread from yesterday where some were saying he could get 3-4 weeks.  I'd love him not to miss though!

This game was the perfect example of our season, its the reason why we are  7 and not top 4, we dont finish off teams, we don't  have a killer instinct.

I think we look better without Hogan.

How bout the quick clearance in the 4th was it clarrie when Hannan took that pack mark and dobbed it from 50. amazing what a quick long kick into 50 from a center clearance can do instead of the over using the handball.

At the moment I can't help but agree.  Having said that, I think that's more out of the fact that he has missed so much footy and we've had to adapt to playing without him.  I'd rather him in the side than out (he would offer more than Weideman).

Great, gutsy win but these fade outs are causing my blood pressure no favours.  I would love to see us play 4 quarters of football without dropping off. We would be just about unbeatable.

Weideman can go back to Casey.  Laid a couple of good tackles but at other times looked slow. Petracca is brilliant but I just wonder if he needs to leave his ego at home and just play footy.

i agreed Weed struggled? I imagjne Watts will come straight back in. Overall we were great apart from the 3rd qtr. As for Razor he needs a red and blue cracker up his arse!!!!!!

agreed and our forward 50 awareness isn't quiet there we don't kick enough easy goals our dominance demands especially that 1st quarter should have been 50pts up.

Harmes may be coming of age. Had my doubts but all his AFL attributes were on show today. Yet to turn 22.

Pedo tends to get the boot after one average game. He deserves greater leniency because the average games are few and far between. If we do make finals, I want him in the side.

Gus was the story of the day. He's gonna be a star. Nothing surer.

A lot of the time we seem to be shooting ourselves in the foot, stuffing up some good chances that we've created. I'm all for the team-first mantra, but when you have the ball and are inside 50, back yourself in (you're an AFL footballer after all, you're meant to be good enough).

Would you drop Weid for Lions game? I wouldn't, another game of AFL experience for him. Watts comes in a week later.

Tom McDonald back in defence gives me more confidence and straightens us up, Oscar, I had been critical but his year has been a great story of persistence. Hogan up forward, Salem and Watts back would be handy. Wagner goes out as does Weed and possibly Petracca for a rest? Garlett has had a tough few weeks personally, but he's allowed to, his year has been great. We need to thump Lions next week.

Does Frost come back? I think T-Mac was very good in defence but could have used him forward.. Wagners dispoal was pretty woeful and he turned it over about as much as Frost. For me Frost has a bit more upside.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
