Nah, back in a top end draft pick to kick it into the 50 in a manner that's different to a mongrel punt.

I agree. Make it easier for the opposition to mark it on their chest.

Damn you ET. Very funny. And possibly very true.

Surprised this post cracked 6 pages. Why ponder something that will never happen. Well, actually, it might happen in 8 years after Brown has played in a flag and is looking for Super.

I would move heaven and earth to get a bloke like him.

Last night we had 55 inside 50s to 45. Why did that statistic result in a 53 point defeat when usually it means a 53 point win?

We have the worst forward line in the comp and the worst since inside 50 and conversion rates have been recorded.

TMac is iffy, Weideman has shown bupkis. It's been a horror show.

We must throw the kitchen sink and internal pipe fitting at Ben Brown to come to the  Melbourne Football Club. Pick 3 will get a rebuilding North interested.

We won't be having a shot at Rowell or Anderson as Gill will be giving them the PP necessary to ensure they have picks 1 and 2 in October.

Get radical and get Ben Brown or miss finals again in 2020.

The club will implode if we have another year like this one, good players will walk and Goodwin will be clearing out his desk by round 12.

Get real people.

I’m just disappointed that this wasn’t a haiku

6 goals to half time tonight.

Goalless with 5 disposals last week.

Go figure

Already kicked more then our whole team did last night

And 5 more than his own team last week

I've always thought of Ben in the same terms as a Labrador.

How would you get a Lab to leave your neighbour's house and come stay with you?

That would have to be our recruiters' mindset if we have any chance of getting it done.

Extra dog-biscuits won't help, nor offering a lot of money to the owner.

We would have to manipulate a scenario where Benny feels abused or underappreciated.

I would go with a fake Ziebell twitter-post mocking Ben's rather puli hair.

If Brown was to come to us, i'd be gravely concerned with his level of intelligence.

Exacty. this thread is totally [censored] absurd. Anyone thats been paying attention to footy in the last 10 years knows that Ben brown is a proud Tasmanian man that plays for a club that has an academy region with Tasmania that plays home games there. This is one of the most unlikely trade moves that could ever occur given these circumstances. The only chance he leaves is as a Tasmanian teams marquee player.

How many first rounders do we want to waste?  2 for Lever in a super draft who was always gettable with 1.  1 for May who is 28 round 1.  Now 1 for Brown.

And the simpletons then ask , “Where are our rising stars?”.

In a hole MFC?  Keep digging.

Totally agree. Better off going to draft (although we have a shocking recruitment team) and planning a tilt in 3-4 years. Clean out the list completely

I'd pass on Ben Brown. While he provides a target and kicks lots of goals he looks a bit silly, does long run ups and lacks drinking prowess. We don't need such attributes in a marque player.

Close the thread he is going nowhere. North would disintegrate if he left.

Haha... There is no way he would leave North to go to Melbourne.

Not even for a Million dollars!

Close thread...

Our first pick in the ‘super draft’ would have been pick 16. Calm ya farm.

Outstanding game today against us.

2 goals, well held by Frost.

Get Frost's signature!

Spot on Moons, can't believe he hasn't been signed up yet. If he goes and OMac stays I might just go spare.

Who would have thought 12 months ago that this would be occurring.  What a fall from grace.

It's been great.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
