Round 15 Non MFC games

Featured Replies

If Freo can win, we could not be happier with how the non MFC results have gone. Particularly with Hawthorn having Giants and Cats next two weeks and Dogs/Saints having Crows and Tigers respectively next week.

Yup.

Need Freo to get up, them and Essendon going down would really soften the Sydney loss for us and continue to give us some breathing space.

Agree, although ultimately I feel the season will end up in our hands.

We are still going to need to win most, if not all, of the Carlton, North, St Kilda, Brisbane and Collingwood games irrespective of what St Kilda, the Dogs and Essendon do.

Next Week. Essendon vs Collingwood

Don't worry about watching the game, just grab some popcorn for the aftermath.

Howe back to his very worst. Turnovers by hand and foot were arguably the difference. No thanks. Pies loss means they are gone. Nothing to play for against us in the final round.Helpful. Be nice if Freo won but not vital.

Yes indeed Titan. So looking like have to play 5 teams outside the 8 and 3 inside. Thats a pretty fair run.

I'll vomit if he makes the AA team ahead of Michael Hibberd.

Why does Dwayne say "bends it back" for every shot whether it's bending or not?

Just reading bomberblitz to cheer me up.

Usual comments but this one got me chuckling as it also so much applies to the MFC:

"Pity the VFL was televised this week. I'd like to pretend there were options in the twos. "

The more those outside keep losing the more likely 11 games and a good % might be enough. Next 3 will be tough with the amount of players not available. The less our losses hurt with those around the mark losing as well the better. We are still going to have to find a way to win though.

Freo trying really hard to lose this one!!

Yep, doing their very best to throw away 2 wins in a row.

They screwed us last week by letting Geelong win in the dying minutes, look set to screw us over again.

Dockers 3pts now....not long left....4mins.

They'll choke.

They are shyte loads of trouble their list is all over the place that's what happens when you continually top up with older players.

Richmond play St Kilda next week so we win either way

How do you figure that?

Saints are now equal wins with us -- if they win next week, they jump us on the ladder. If Richmond win, they move two wins ahead of us + superior percentage.

We really needed Saints to [censored] that up and create a bottleneck of teams on 7 wins and inferior percentage, rendering all results next week irrelevant.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
