Maybe the Hunt doubt is what prompted the FD to have Dion in the emergencies..?

It's not a reality check if we lose. It would be a reality check if we had Watts, Jones, Salem, Hogan, Garlett etc. running around tonight and got done.

An interpretation of the situation, but I accept your point,

Its going to be tough to get the 4 points tonight.

Perhaps a reality check.

Despite our greater depth the absence of key players does make a significance difference to the game and team attitude.

Look at the Swans first half of the season and the impact injuries had to their win-loss ratio.

If we are competitive we will have done well.

It will be a challenge to our depth, flexibility and game plan.

I can't see how we nullify Buddy tonight particularly if TMac plays up forward.

The way we play tonight will really test all players, coaches and their belief in themselves. It's critical that we get a good start and do not have to play catch up footy.

Its amazing how 4 consecutive wins changes attitudes and perception.

I am not looking forward to tonight but do look forward to getting players back so that we can really see what we have got at the business end of the season.

I'm of a similar view Ernest, but the glass half full approach is that we're not substantially weaker than the team last week. Remember, Jeffy was jogging around the i50, and Salem was on the pine for a fair stretch. I like the ins, they'll crack in hard.

ive picked the swans, just, but I give us a red hot crack at this one. I reckon the 3rd 6day break might just be a bridge too far.

ill most happily be proved wrong.

We're back out over $2 at $2.02 with Crownbet, Swans in to $1.83.

If Hunt is ruled out Swans will hit $1.70 and we'll end up losing by 5 goals.

$1.96 on Sportsbet

I thought the Dogs would beat us.

I thought we'd get pummelled over in the west.

I'm done putting a ceiling in this group. Demons to win it tonight against a Swans outfit that is on fire.

He said "I believe" therefore it is his belief only. one can assume just an opinion

I'd call play on

Beating the west coast eagles in Perth on a short break with the players we had out is a bigger ask than beating the swans at a ground they don't play very well

If Hunt is out it would have to be Johnstone in? Trengove is more inside mid and Weid is a KPF so I'd say like for like in the sense Johnstone is quick.

I hope Hunt isn't out but I'd love to see how Johnstone goes.

We could be playing our Casey team tonight and I'd still tip the Demons.

17 points.

T.Mac might play on Buddy based on past experience. O.Mac might surprise by ending up at F.F . Harmes could be a surprise package. Swans fav due to number of injuries to the Dees. It is good to see  the revolving stock players in Ped,ANB,Harmes etc  becoming more consistent this year.

Melbourne to run them off their legs tonight Hunt or no Hunt. We believe and that makes us unbeatable. Now if only the fans would start to believe.

If we are able to beat the Swans tonight it would be an amazing feat given the run would include the reigning premier, the runner up, and weagles away!...

... oh

and collingwood. ?

Everybody, start getting into game mode.

Let's replicate the manic last minutes of the QB clash for the boys.

We can do this tonight!!

I don't think it's appropriate for me to rock back and forth in the fetal position whilst sucking my thumb and mumbling something about Neeld or Prentagast whilst at work.

Fox Footy had the Round 1 2011 clash between Melb & the Swans.  Swannies led most of the game, until Brad Green put through an absolutely spectacular goal to put us in front with a few minutes to go.  Alas, the Swannies managed to kick a point right near the end to end the game in a draw!

Trenners played well, and it was Luke Tapscott's first game.  He also played well, and they were talking him up as a real find for Melb, and a 10 yr player.  Alas, was not to be.

Anyway, back to 2017.  Big game.  Let's see the Mighty Dees bring it home in front of a big Friday Night crowd at the "G"...!!

Beginning of the end, that game. There was something "off" from round 1. We were hot favourites and should have smashed them. It was an ugly game to watch if I remember correctly.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
