Oliver is no 'stager'!

Featured Replies

Now Grace QC is saying Oliver hurt his face when he struck Schofield's spine and the MFC medical report was based on Oliver' self reporting rather than a 'diagnosis by the doctor'.

Therefore medical report should be ignored...#fakelogic

Understand your point. But Clayton is clearly defending his position.

He believes he got hit and didn't dive, he hasn't gone on a Sunday morning bender and written stuff he would later regret.

i know what he's doing, but people on social media will believe what they want and won't be swayed. you achieve nothing but fanning the flames

All i can say re Eagles farce

Liar Liar pants on fire !!!

Fmd...these clowns actually believe their own bullshlt ?? :o

Absolute load of cheap coming out of his mouth. You don't lead with an elbow to push someone away

Sure. But the alternative is to get hammered on multiple levels by keyboard heroes.

I am ok that he is standing firm.

It would be far worse if he was in tears.

Clarry is made of strong stuff

Following the tribunal online, I reckon our boy is in strife. Hope I'm wrong. Might be just MFCSS...

Why would he be in strife?

Good strong words from Lewis about Clarry being a very strong kid who wouldn't go to ground for no reason.

Told all the keyboard warriors to shut up basically.

LOL

The Tribunal's Legal Counsel Andrew Woods doesn't concede Oliver hit Schofield with his jaw.

Wow

Oliver's quotes

David Grace QC wanted to use a report from The West Australian newspaper, which wrote Oliver said the stray elbow was "A cheap shot. I probably shouldn't have fallen over but I was sort of scared".

Tribunal chairman Ross Howie arguing it shouldn't be taken into account.

Grace QC: "I won't push it any further".

Why raise it then? Other than to put it out there that Clarry dived

Feel sorry for Clarry in all this, it must be having some affect on him just hope he turns up Friday. Sooner this is done the better, hopefully Schofield and West Coast get the full 2 for being a [censored] about it. Sore losers

Trying to think of something suitable to describe Grace

Dis?

David Grace QC:

"Do you really think, if the contact to Oliver was anything other than negligible, player Oliver would be squirting around the melee (and looking for Schofield)?"

Grace QC arguing if Oliver was hurt, he wouldn't have got up and tried to retaliate.

That doesnt even make sense!! Its probably the first thing you do. David Grace QC has obviously never been in a barney.

That newspaper report is a deliberate change of the words Oliver used in the post game Ch7 interview.  I am appalled a QC would use that and not show the actual vision of the interview.

But, the Tribunal works on balance of probabilities.  So Grace Qc, has cast doubt on:

  • what the umpire saw,
  • when Oliver was hit
  • the relevance of the medical report because he asserted there was no diagnosis by the doctor.
  • Uses a twisted newspaper report rather than the actual vision.
  • uses the sequence of events incorrectly

Grace QC has probably succeed in casting sufficient doubt on the balance of probabilities.  Schofield will get off.

He's going to get off here schofield.

What annoyed me is grant thomas and others saying he has made it worse by not admitting it....he said he shouldnt have fallen over and was sort of scared...isnt that him admitting he shouldnt have done it?

Finding the attacks on this 19 yo's character from all corners quite distressing

My recollection of the vision is that was before Schofield hit Oliver not after.  After, Oliver lay on the ground while everyone else was in a melee.

Grrrr!  Why don't they look at the vision while Grace, QC is saying this - he is wrong!!

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
