Got it thanks. Had to open it in an incognito browser because I've been to Plus7 before in my normal browser and it must store info in cookies

Just a heads up that this may be the way to watch the game tonight in the ACT if you don't have foxtel

Only saw a bit of the 3rd and the last quarter but very impressed by JKH he looks very balanced, clean hands and knows how to get the ball and delivery was very good. He looks a million dollars at this level. And has the penny dropped for Kent with 8 or so tackles and 30 odd possessions?

Kennedy desposal is not very good

His long kicks go too high   Too much hang time

IMO (some have been said before)

1. Kent needs to put in a few before earning recall

2. JKH - would he play the same role at AFL?

3. Keep Weed at VFL for a while yet to get confidence and poise - and hunger

Fritsch has reminds me of a young Buckenara.

Woul be happy to use a 4th rounder/pick in the 60's on him this year.

The guy who ripped out heart out at Waverley??!!   Would be a beauty.

Thought Whites first half was outstanding - especially his kicking.

A few of the players in the firsts will be hearing footsteps for their places. Great depth.

As a HBF?  Good that there is pressure on senior places, but he has a few in front of him.

Really impressed with White's first half.  As Chook said his disposal was first class and he set up many forward 50 entries.  JKH, Kennedy and Kent were excellent, winning the hard ball as well as well as providing great outside run.  Maynard is a gun inside.  Weideman had a great confidence boosting game and was double and triple teamed from early in the second qtr.

Just back from Box Hill

Lovely day at the footy ... would have been better if the sun had kept shining.

As the game was on TV I won't comment much, save to say:

  • Weid's first quarter was something as was his flying contested chest mark in the second.
  • Not many Demon supporters there which was a great pity.
  • By comparison to other VFL games I have been to this year the game seemed to me be of a slightly higher standard with some great passages of play by both teams.
  • Spencer did not dominate either in the ruck or around the ground notwithstanding being in position to take some strong marks. On a positive note he was not beaten either.
  • Casey should have won by more.
  • The bacon and egg rolls with cheese were delicious (but then again I have never been to Casey to try the mythical Casey roll. )
  • Happened to notice that the OB van for the TV coverage is the old ABC OB van complete with logos.

I live around the corner, second match Casey versus Box Hill I've been to. I stand next to the interchange cabin. The vibe in there was sensational. Positive, complimentary to each other, confident and involved. The few times Kent came off he was thoroughly engrossed and making perceptive and encouraging comments.

Trengove came off in the 3rd quarter and had his right knee area attended to.

JKH plays way above this level. He was clearly the classiest player on the ground.

Kent got a lot of it, lot of long bombing raids.

White was terrific.

Weidemann was sensational. He was triple teamed after quarter time and got sweet fluck all help from umpires.

Kennedy is a classy battler at this level.

Spencer gave his all, also got cooked by the umpires a few times.

Fritch will be a gun. ( It's the German gene.)

The Casey runner deserves a medal. I reckon he ran one hundred and fifty Kilometres this afternoon. Box Hill is a big bllody ground.

Spoke to a bunch of lads who were watching. There was a blonde topped lad who is as thin as a rake. I recognised his old man in him. He'll be back next week, Il Signor Smith.

The Hogan and the Brayshaw have the same taste in tacky dacks as me.

A month of dominant football from JKH in the midfield  Was hoping he would come in to play West Coast, but he will get his chance very soon.

And Weid, just magnificent.  Hes a  19 year old KPF and has star written all over him and will be the perfect compliment to Hogan.

Fritsch is going to be a very good player. Draft the kid. He is going to be good.

Weid was great. He is exceptional below the knees, and has good skills away from goal. Has a few traits that you don't usually see in an out of the square forward.

I liked Kielty's game. He is a good prospect for mine. Good frame, has mongrel, could our next legitimate KP back in AFL.

BenKen is one tough little player. He wills himself through contests and is an important momentum player.

JKH should be playing seniors, but last time he got there he didn't do much. So when he gets there next time I hope he actually does something - because he is too good for VFL. But, he isn't wasted in VFL because it looks as though he is still developing his game. JKH will make it, and whoever pushed him to develop his inside game deserves a big pat on the back. It suits his traits. Well done to whoever that was.

I think Mitch Gent would also go ok at a higher level. We probably have a couple players who could be worth keeping an eye on.

Nice report. But those dacks!  You must have broad taste. Hoges was wearing black tight jeans. Gus had on the floppy loose grey trackies with the elastic cuffs.

A good win, but gee it's a lot slower and fumblier than AFL. Hard to judge the status of JKH, Ben Ken and Kent when they shine at VFL but struggle in the seniors.

Fantastic result, Weids kicking 6 is absolutely brilliant! I think we need to persist with him at VFL level to maintain his confidence and because there's no need to rush people in.

JKH will be back, that much is clear now. He had a poor showing earlier this year at AFL level, there is hope for him yet and with a bit of luck he will be making a few on here eat their words.

No doubt we are stronger when we have Casey keeping everyone in the seniors on their toes. With us having a short turnaround next week it wouldn't surprise me if we make some changes to manage players to the multiple 6 day breaks.

Well done Casey!

Mr Smith was wearing the jeans....

Now the umps are going their way

Watch fritsch - potential

I thought Spencer was very meh just ordinary

Kennedy jkh busy and relentless

Kielty and weids nice hands

Is lewis playing

His leadership is soooo important

Spencer was beaten by Mark Pittonet. Couldn't believe some fool wrote on this site earlier this week that Spencer is the best back-up ruckman in the league.

Spencer wouldn't be in the Top 10 back-up ruckman in the league. Hawks alone have 2 better back-ups in Ceglar & Pittonet.

Weideman is six months younger and one year in the playing scheme behind Darcy Moore.

The last three games have been very good. Finish off the season and a strong pre-season and he will be  a player in 2018.

As important as his overhead game is, he is now learning to bullock his way around the packs.

Saw parts of the first half, little man was running around madly. Kent... his kicking and blinkers don't do much for him.

Weid.. highest point marking followed by great long range kicking was enjoyable.

Who is 24 for Casey, looked alright.

Box Hill oval was a nice spot to watch parts of a game.

Gee Maynard still going.

Wags to get in for injured Salem.

Gonna be hard not to pick Weed. Then again who comes out. Ditto JKH and Kent.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
