Your very quick to label someone a liar, something that I find very distasteful. Here's a question for your all knowing knowledge,  l was also given the same information by someone who would have no idea of GNF or anyone else on this forum, a former player of the club. Now that story was being put about from some source, how do you explain that?

Anyone with a modicum of knowledge about the operation Hoges underwent would have known that Hogan was going to be missing for at least 4-6 weeks. I detailed info re the operation early on as told to me by a surgeon and a quick google search of the op would confirm the timeline.

People might repeat what they have heard but he was never going to play on QB

No doubt, we now know that was correct but thats not the point

Wow I didn't get into as many fights as are currently going on here when I was slap bang in the middle of the bulldogs members last week and going nuts for our boys.

All I can say is I can't wait until the game rolls around as I am super excited to see how we back up our 4 quarter effort from last week. Go Demons!

I'm liking Gawn and Stretch in already. Stretch gives us outside speed and run and Gawn, well... enough said.

Keep up the relentless midfield pressure and we might just snag this one.

Far as I can tell Billy went back to develop his inside game to compliment his outside skills and natural nouse...

hopefully he has a cracker over in the West.

Agree the selection of Stretch seems like a good move.  I'm actually surprised that it has taken so long for him to work his way back into the side, because I would have probably had just him above Bugg and Nibbler on skills/ability.  I guess the form of others when they have got them selves into the side has made it hard to select Stretch back into the side.

As much as I do actually rate Stretch for his hard edge, I'm not sure he has the bullocking power to be a direct replacement for Jones in the guts.  Guessing that others such perhaps Nibbler, Bugg, Trac and Bernie will spend more time rotating through the midfield.  A real pitty that Vanders is out injured, as he is one that would have been good to inject a bit more grunt into the guts in the absence of Jones.

It couldn't conceivably have eventuated, because he hadn't even returned to full training.  He still hasn't 3 weeks later.

And you couldn't possibly have been told what you stated you were told, because no-one at the club in the know, repeat no-one, would have suggested he was playing, because they knew he wouldn't be.

Not only did you lie, you showed a lack of intelligence to even run with the story.  But that's what happens when you're living a lie on a forum.

Was a pretty ordinary call, i must say

Cancer Surgery to Senior AFL Footy in a few weeks.

I don't think so...

The problem is I don't know what you were told, who told you, or how it was told to you.

I often speak of Chinese whispers and the fact that you believe you were told reliable information doesn't cut it with me, because I didn't hear it and I don't have unbridled faith in you to recite what you were told and for me to have any clue as to its veracity.

One thing is clear though, whoever told you he was playing didn't have a frigging idea.

And I draw your attention to Grand New Flag's specific words, his info was supposedly "from the top", which, of course, it couldn't have been.

Now you're welcome to believe his version.  I sure as hell don't.

Your mate probably read the information on Demonland!

I like rumours, they're good fun, but there are some here I'd imagine who find it difficult to judge the likelihood of rumours being right or even possible.

There was a dope last year who said Rockliff was coming to MFC, had it from both the BFC and a past player.  Done deal.  Reading the post it was very obvious that it was rot but many believed it and when Rockliff didn't come those hopes were dashed and people bitterly disappointed.

Rumours can be fun when they are rumours - "the bloke at the fish and chip shop told me".  But when they are couched in "someone at the top" or "straight from the horses mouth" they move, if correct, from rumour to fact.

Why GNF gets his jollies sucking passionate supporters into to believing something they really want  I don't know, it says much about the person I suppose.  But I think it's important to point out his charade so those people don't get disappointed.  Unfortunately because we always want to believe in something we really want - Hogan will play or Roos will coach - I suspect many will dismiss the critics and still believe in him/her.

There are obviously some on here who have good contacts at the club and it is one of the best bits of Demonland when they are able to share information as, after all, we are all passionate Melbourne supporters on here whatever our differences.

I was a GNF 'believer' for want of a better word but his recent 'Hogan will play' call has proved to be so far off the mark as to not be credible. It is a shame and if it can be proved that he/she is winding us up rather than been merely ill-informed then perhaps he should be banned from this site.

a great point in that it makes him easy to spot on the field.

I must confess to seeing double when Wagner and Hunt were playing together

I think anyone who gets too invested in anything posted by anonymous people with anonymous sources on a footy forum only has themselves to blame.

I enjoy reading them but take them for what they are - hearsay. It is the same for players that are coming to the club and leaving the club. Until it is in black and white from the club that something has happened all these type of post are are  entertainment  which may may even raise the hopes a little ( or dash them a little) but I certainly don't  take them as gospel truth ( for whats its worth I don't the gospel truth as truth either but that's a whole different argument)

My first line was in response to you and the rest a general comment.

Sorry if it came across as a crack at you, it wasn't.

Not everyone is as old and wise as you Nut! Some general discussion on this subject is unfortunately necessary.

Hopefully everyone can see now that GNF just plays the odds. There are plenty of us that identified this as far back as when he claimed the inside word on the Roos appointment, though nobody has so comprehensively torn him apart as you have that I can recall.

So now admin get off topic, thought there was a crack down on this sort of thing in threads.

Can we please get back on topic!
