GAMEDAY - Round 13

After Malthouse pumped up our tyres with Rhettoric I know what will happen, being the mentally fragile unit  we are on occasions, and being easily satisfied as well I don't think we can do it!

So it's half way through the season and we're playing the reigning premiers and we're without Gawn and Hogan and we're feeling quietly confident? So close to being a serious team. Today would be a huge step!

Anyone know a way to watch today on a TV screen . I'll be at a house without foxtel and would rather not watch on mobile. PM me I would much appreciate it

How good is it to be playing meaningful matches at this stage of the season?  I know we were an outside shot at the 8 late last season, but this feels different.  We truly feel as though we can be a finals side, and a finals side who won't just make up the numbers.

Long way to go yet, but it's exciting to be playing for something other than pride for once.

This.  How great is it that we are in the mix?  Every game feels like it is 'season defining ', and we have had our expectations raised.

It has been a long time since I have been 'on edge' before Melbourne games like this season.  Nothing is a given.  We are a young side, our competitiveness has lifted, but we can sometimes be fragile in a comp where 5-10% drop off will kill you.  It is just so even.

Go Dees.

Lol.

Super late notice but I had to pull out of going today at the last minute, would anyone want 2 tickets to medallion club seats? Would just have to come pick them up in the Brighton area. Free of course

Yes! I am in Brighton atm. Still available?

Sorry mate gone already!

Just saw in the TV guide that channel 7 have decided to show 'House Rules - Encore' across all 3 of there channels this afternoon over showing this game of footy. What a sad state of affairs FTA TV is in. No wonder channels are going into administration.

What's the odds that Dogs target one of ours, possibly Watts or Oliver to show how tough they are.

Disappointing from the players, we've achieved nothing to date.

It's not a crime to have a sense of humour, BA.

He posted this last week. Bit of fun.

Triple m interview with goody. Max definite in next week.

Dogs will be fired up for this one.  Accused of a prem hangover.

Their defence is still good and have a few big names back

it'll be a very tough game

Those Bugg tweets smack of hubris.

It reminds me of his antics after a goal early last season when he gave it to the crowd.  Was told by the club to pull his head in.

Hubris is not funny and it is not smart, especially from a player who has nothing to rave about!

Hope he pulls his head in and lets his footy do the talking.

I suddenly have this sick feeling that (some) players are getting ahead of themselves, again.

Tommy Bugg can talk all he likes cos I know he will back it up with 100% effort and 100% backing up his teammates.

Before you get all high and mighty, LH, how do we know the entire background behind it?  He has tagged Johannisen in the picture and with Watts pulling a face it may be a bit of banter between the two - how do we know they aren't friends off the field and it's all just fun and games?

It's why I don't follow the players on any social media.  It's worthless, like his post above, as we have no idea who they know or why they are doing it.

Good on him if he can back it up

We need some arrogance with action to go the next step

the dees have had a horrible history of failing to win after a week off in the mid years, this year we won. The dog have been playing poor football, while they are bringing some players back, you have to wonder if they are rushing them in because they are worried.  If we take care of libba and the bont then we should win. Our players just have stop kicking it long into the forward line with their hail mary punts we dont have a high marking forward down there so please think.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
