He seems to be really appreciative of the club which is great. It's also his hard work and determination that has got him where he is, really happy for him.

I am happy for him as well but it has taken a lot of years for him to work out what is required to play at this level.

He's an enigma... I'm not sure where Cam sits in the best 22.  He looks a little lost when he's not the main focus, whether that be in the Ruck or the No 1 Key Forward.  His best football seems to be when he's floating around wing and half forward and able to hunt the ball and find some space for himself.

Will be interesting to see where he lines up this preseason as a forward line with TMac, Hogan and Pedo, sound a little too big on paper.

With Trak going into the middle more and Vanders out indefinitely, there’s an opening for a bullocking physical player who can also take a pack mark and spend time in the ruck.

Pedo made big strides last year, if fit he can be also be a link up presence...

If he's fitter I'm still not sure why he isn't right in contention for the CHB spot. He's an excellent mark, lovely kick and reads the play well.

It sounds like he has been training with the forwards, so I can't see him taking CHB.

That said, I don't think TMac, Hogan and Pedo/Weidemann/T Smith makes us too big up forward. I think having 2 genuine forwards and alternating a ruck/fwd is ok. If he's in the best 22 and the match up works then we should play those players.

Love his ground ball action, always gets it to a clean pair of hands or snaps without resistance - go pedo, you wonderful thing!

with Hannan, Garlett and Kent/Harmes cramming - it’s a scarily potent fwd line!

That tweet of his, with his kids, is almost a bit of a tear jerker.

So much humanity in that tweet. That’s where sport overcomes the corporatisation of everything including itself. It’s possibly the most moving tweet I’ve seen from an MFC player.

I see Pedo as (potentially) in our best 22. He was AA standard for a while in 2017, but also went missing in certain games.

I really hope he brings his AA standard form this year. I’d love to see him get another contract extension.

I also see him as competing with the Weed, not Hogan or Tommy Mac, both of whom will be certainties to start in the forward line each week.

The games he went missing in were the ones he played alongside 2 other tall forwards.

I just can't see him playing with Hogan and Tommy Mc. Unless the make Hogan a midfielder for half the game or get really funky and play Tom on a wing for part of the game.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
