I cannot remember the last time a team went into a game without a recognised ruckman ... however, Bellchambers is not great by any means and he's the best case scenario for us, all things considered.

We can still win and win well but it's still a very unusual situation that we find ourselves in.  Good luck to whatever ruck combo the MC can come up with.

Oliver, Viney, Jones, Tyson & Vince will all need to be on their games though.  Vince can be a good extractor and with Lewis back, we might see more of Bernie at the stoppages.

Agree - Leuenberger worried me a lot more than Bellchambers does.

I think we have a better chance of breaking even, or getting close to breaking even, in the ruck contests and that then opens the door for Pedersen/Watts/whoever to run Bellchambers off his feet around the ground.

Just looking at the lineup, and geez we look thin for forward options.

It will be interesting to see the number of rebounds off defensive fifty that the bummers can manage. Our midfield will need to be on full alert for that and send it  into forward fifty with very high accuracy.

We're only thin fwd if you adopt the 'seasoned' method to goal.

If the team as a whole is tasked with the job of getting it through the big sticks...not just " them" then there's enough quality and opportunistic boots to get it done.

Goody has hinted today will be different. Lets see what kind of 'different' !!:o

It's quite literally one week at a time with our rucking situation ... what we might see today may bear little resemblance to how we attack things in the coming weeks.

If we do well today we may change things up the next week (McEvoy/Hawks) because of match-ups.  Then we've got the twin-towers @ Adelaide and then North presents the same sort of problem.

The last quarter in all of these upcoming games are vital ... the players from both sides start getting tired so those taps to advantage can result in more clean clearances.  The MC would know that so we might keep someone fresh for that stanza.

i think we will win. And win well. We are a better side than them and funnily enough i think Ethiad will suit us.

I predict at a 47 point win, and s such think the $6.50 for over 40 is great value as is the straight out win bet at $2.10.

On the punting tip i reckon Garlett (who has been in great form), Watts and Trac are all good value for most goals for the game ($9.50, $12 and $15 respectively)

I wasn't a million miles away. Nailed the goal kickers

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
