And Daniel Bell after 60 odd games had what appears to be permanent brain damage... don't put your desire to see him succeed as a player, ahead of Brayshaw's best interests. The doctors don't always get it right.

Yeah best not to go with the trained medical professionals. Stick with the armchair experts

Is the Brayshaw concussion confirmed?

Do we know what happened?

If you go by the armchair doctors here then yes.

Don't bother with Dr Google, just ask Demonland..

Belly has made a full recovery apparently.

Very sad for Gus if true.  He will be a big loss if he doesn't play on because I think he's a very important part of our plans.

Such as yourself? If the appropriate medical specialists can irrefutably say that he is fit to play on, then yes, he may well decide to... however, I would not be relying on a club doctor's assessment.

Are we jumping the gun re: Brayshaw?

Was it concussion or not?

I hope the club was being ultra cautious and it's not a mild concussion and was just a slight knock.

Plapp said head knock and followed with "it's a pity because he's had them before".

Everyone hoping for the best.

Where did you see that?  Plapp didn't say it in the article I saw.

If it is behind the play it may be better than a full on in play knock but who knows.

Saw it quoted this morning.

I wasn't there. But a belt behind play is usually far more than a "headknock"

Its official http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-04-23/casey-notches-up-first-win

Unfortunately, Angus Brayshaw left the field in the hands of trainers late in the second term and failed to reappear after half-time...“He copped a head knock,” senior coach Justin Plapp told melbournefc.com.au...“It’s unfortunate for him because he has had a few hits over the last few years … but hopefully he’s OK.”

We have shown a lot of care and support with our talented youngsters:  Hunt, Salem, Hogan, Petracca, JKH.  They have all had long stints out in the first few years of their career.   And I am sure we will with Brayshaw and give him as much time and care that he needs.  Hopefully he can take encouragement from Salem who went thru a similar series of repeat head knocks.

Lets wait till we hear more details before we assume a worse case scenario.

There are a couple on here who make my blood run cold.

Angus is facing a serious injury that could end his career and seemingly all they want to do is snipe at other peoples comments.

For God sake it is not about you.

Get a bloody grip.

Daniel undertook an intensive cognitive rehabilitation regime. After 6-months his memory, concentration and task switching were at the elite level. He subsequently went on to pass through the MFB selection process, which is a great credit to him.

How much this will protect his long-term brain health cannot yet be determined.

Credit should also go to Josh Mahoney, who directed Daniel towards people who could help him.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
