Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I still remember Kreuzer streaming down the middle of the MCG last year and dobbing one from about 48 metres. He looked like the best ruckman in the history of th AFL. OUCH !!!

Is that fact or just media speculation/rumours? It's inconsistent with their stance on Gibbs.

Who did they have planned to play in the ruck without Kreuzer? Daisy Thomas?

Let me put it this way, Kreuzer was being hawked around with no takers. It was either Carlton, or his manager, with their consent.

At the time he was struggling to play because of a foot injury.

If you're of the opinion we need a ruck/forward type... then yes... He's ideal. If you're not of that opnion, it's a no.

I think when all's said and done he would be a massive amount of salary cap space, so meh. I think we'll more than likely look at a Peter Wright type with one of our earlier picks in coming drafts. I don't see Watts as a full time KP forward in the way Weed and Hogan are... so a Wright type would be ideal.

Personal opinion. Kreuzer would be good for that. Doubt he'd want to be second fiddle to Gawn int he ruck though.

Interesting. I'd actually just go Peter Wright. He comes out of contract at the end of 2019. Our window will be open well and truly by then. I reckon we go for him, but at the moment I'm happy enough to allow Weideman to develop alongside Hogan and Watts.

Just have a look at what happened to Port Adelaide when they got Paddy Ryder. Lobbe was a pure ruckman, and Ryder played his best footy at Essendon in the ruck. Lobbe's form dropped dramtically, and Ryder had little impact as a forward/ruckman.

Kreuzer is a skillful footballer, but he's a ruckman/forward not a forward/ruckman.

If we got a forward ruckman, it would be at the expense of Weidemann. If they both played, Hogan would have to play up the ground more, and I think that it would be to the detriment of the team.

I disagree with this in time. Weideman and Hogan will rotate from deep and CHF. We can also play a tall KPF beside them.

At the moment, I'm happy to go small, quick and agile at the feet of Hogan, Weideman and Watts.

I'd much rather throw money at Dusty.

As much as he is fast becoming the best player in the game, the money we'd have to fork out would be too much and I'd fear it'd upset our list balance from a financial perspective.

I think we have to hold out for a gun FA until they're either willing to take a pay cut to come over, or come across without us having to break the bank.

That kid is unreal. Would cost an arm and a leg to get. Remember when we tried to get Adelaide's Lynch?

Another one is Hipwood. Fantastic footballer already. All would take huge amounts to get a hold of.

That is how I recall it.

They wanted a club to offer him a mega contract as he was an FA and Carlton were angling for a first round AFL compensation pick ie pick 2.  When they learnt there wasn't much interest at a level where they would get pick 2 they took him off the table.  (Anyway, the AFL wanted the Lions to have pick 2).

Carlton are probably damned please they kept him as he is playing well.  There may be more interest in Kreuzer as an FA this time round.

I'm in the 'He is not for us' camp.

He still has the foot problem, just like Jaeger and Dion have the knee problems. Kreuzer is obviously playing through the difficulties.

That was when we were a 7 win team. We should be a team pushing for a flag by 2019. Different situation I think.

He is a crock.

Being from Carl, more likely a crook

But I am 100 percent certain that he could arrange a glowing medical report from Princes Park.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
