I'm glad we got the Oliver v Parish one right. Parish is struggling in the wet and won't stand up in finals. Whereas Oliver...

They're different classes.

Parish would absolutely destroy an under 16's competition :)

Oliver would relish those conditions. Nice red and blue glasses, huh? ;)

Very nice. They beat the pants off black and red, or navy blue ones. And thank you for asking!

To be fair to Essendon, this weather suits Carlton to an absolute tee. Carlton's game is based on stopping their opponents from scoring which is significantly easier to do in a deluge.

If GC holds on against Hawthorn (big if), then Hawthorn, Sydney and North will be the bottom 3, which would be delightful.

If anything, though, it certainly looks to be shaping up as an even season.

Hate both of them, but this is hilarious. These days I hate Essendon just a little more. Essendon will trouble more teams than Carlton, so it's a handy win for those fighting for the top 8. Likewise, Freo's win over the Dogs last night is potentially handy too. Also, ensures we don't take Freo lightly next week.

Good win to the boos, hindsight says we did really tough it out last week, and the Essedrughaze bubble bursts a few weeks early...Can't wait to play them.

The Blues aint as bad as some of the pundits have been suggesting. Some serious talent starting to bob up.

Really? Their best players today were Murphy, Gibbs, Docherty and Curnow. Same old same old, and only one of them is below the age of 27.

Someone may be able to remind me who it was, but I'm sure I heard a commentator mention during the week that Essendon is now everybody's second favourite side. Nothing could be further from the truth I suspect. I, for one, despise them. Drug cheats who were effectively rewarded with the number one pick in the land. Pure and simple.

Quite a number of these drug cheats will run on to the field today (please don't tell me that gobbledygook that none had an inkling as to why they had to continually head off site).

I hope they lose today.

Your wish has happened. Bloody drug cheats.

Thought Seton, Silvagni and Palmer weren't too bad either titan. Cripps not bad also but obviously not news to anyone.

And how about Rowe? What a soldier. Being severely concussed and all.

This is the Gold Coast I envisioned when I tipped them to make the 8.

It is shaping up to be the most even season in a  long, long time.

lol absolutely loving the hawks getting smashed, it's shaping up as a very interesting season we could see upto 4 changes in the top 8 the way things are going

Hawthorn's next two games are Geelong and West Coast.

Sydney's next two games are West Coast (away) and GWS.

There is a not unrealistic chance both of them will be 0-5.

The competition will benefit enormously from that happening.

He stood up big time Ted. Forgot about him. Even Weidering made a reasonable fist of it after coming back on.

Have the Sqawkers taken an early flight ?

Is that [censored] Russell serious? Game on still? Nah, mate. Hawthorn are 54 points down at the end of the third, you moron.

Jaeger O Mearas injuries have slowed him down big time, he is getting the ball but is totally ineffectual and has lost so much of his acceleration.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
