Crows have short memories. We were happy to trade Scott Thompson to them for just a first round pick when he was desperate to go home. We did it early in trade week too if I remember correctly, and we did it with minimal fuss.

They would do well to treat Lever the same way.

They're losing a 21 year old gun, a player already touted as their next captain. I don't think they'll get their two first rounders but calling them greedy for that being their opening position is ridiculous. He was never going to come cheaply and as we all know, draft picks are a gamble.

What would you be asking for if a 21 year old Jack Viney had said "I want to move to SA"?

Ok then give them two first rounders.

You have a comprehension problem. Thanks for the discussion.

We are not known for playing hardball when it comes to trades.  I like that we play fair but many other clubs don't.

A bit rich of Adelaide to not pay the price for Gibbs last year.  And now dig their heels in when the trade is the other way.  Adelaide are stubborn not as bad as Ess stubborn but getting close.

With Coll seemingly wanting to offer Adelaide more than us (which I think is just posturing with little intent, if even true) may force our hand to trade more value than we would like.  I guess it may come down to whether we have other trades rely on the Lever being done early.  If not we can wait and see who blinks first.

Same old story - posturing.

Adelaide demand 2 first picks and declare they want to deal with Pies (or whoever). Lever's manager insists Melbourne. Deal gets done for first and second picks early if Adelaide need the picks for another trade, or they act like tossers (Essendon style)  and hold out to the last minute of trade week, or AFL 'mediators' step in and tell them the deal's fair and grow TF up.

PS. Don't usually pay much notice of what Lloydy says but he said this morning that 10 and 27 seemed fair.

Yep, shocking example but it was the best I could manage on such short notice ?

Lol at Collingwood coming late, won’t mean jack if lever nominates us, and Adelaide digging in there heals about 2 firsts is laughable considering how they carried on last trade period

He maybe a gun but this years and next years first draft picks is way too much for one player, we still need to fill holes in the mid field.

Not this year - maybe this and next but they don't have a second this year either.

He will get to the club he nominates. If it's us then great. If not, oh well.

Viney IS a captain.

Viney's position is far more front and centre ( literally )

If we were asking for Sloane it would be a different story. We aren't.

Your analogy is wrong Nasher.

Even 10 and 27 with no change is a bit steep. Crows are notoriously aholes at trades.

On what i have seen of lever 1 pick should be enough

If lever really wants to come we dont need to pay overs

I thought 10 would be way then enough for him.

Lol. Viney is a captain and a father son. Can't compare

Say it's not us, what's our plan B? I can't think of anyone else.

Not in the backline, but I'm guessing we are looking at other players and in active talks with players/managers/clubs.

Note the rumour came from a Kane Cornes tweet. This year Kane has been incorrect, rude and insulting with his tweets. I still think Lever is worth 1 first round pick only but they sound like the new Essendon

We have three tall defenders in the McDonald's and Frost (plus Hibberd and Jetta as stalwarts down back) and we are looking at giving up the farm for another?

Don't get me wrong, Lever is a gun but I'd much rather we go after another midfielder or simply use the draft picks in the draft.

There should be a rule only one first draft per player, and then it should be a second round if the need be but no player is worth two first round picks.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
