The thing is, if he digs his heels in again over lever and forces him into the draft, they’d be passing up a good deal no reason.

Sorry brett but if danger is worth 9 and 28

10 and 27 is more than fair for lever. You set the bar.

Just got home His ours, I MEN'T TO SAY HIS F8^%# OURS! This is like Christmas morning. Oh boy o boy.

Every single year this happens. I remember the Gold Coast guy saying the exact same thing re. O'Meara. Brisbane were super strong re. Aish. Both ended up at their club of choice. You also need to factor in emotion, how would YOU be feeling if Petracca requested a trade to Collingwood three days after losing a GF we should have won? Yeah, I thought so.

Burton will calm down and soon realise we're good and fair to deal with. We paid Essendon slight overs (at the time) for Melksham and they were good enough to return the favour with Hibberd for slight unders the following year.

Playing hardball gets you nowhere.

Lever is just about worth two first rounders outside the top 10. He's a very good player, although I question his selection in the AA squad. He's also injury prone. But draft picks are overrated, if it ends up being 10 and 20 or something for Lever then I won't be losing any sleep over it.

Are we tracking planes yet? or is that a soccer only thing?

If we could trade pick 10 and somehow end up with, say, two picks in the 16-18 range, then fair deal. But if we throw in 10 and another first-round pick, it's major overs. If it's pick 10 then a pick in the early-mid 20s will get it done. And if Adelaide baulk at that, then we can point to Dangerfield, Eddie, and Scottie Thompson.

That was the best interview BT has done, to hear Lever say it feels sooooooo good.

Yep, Lever made it absolutely clear, he wants to join the Dees.

How long is the interview? Only thing I could find was on the CH7 Facebook page which was only about 1:50 long

About 2 minutes, was on the channel 7 sports segment, more like a coffee and chat. I'm sure the more computer savvy Demonlanders will have it here soon or even before I post.

He sounds a compassionate and thoughtful young man.  He genuinely looked happy when talking of joining the Dees.

Will be a terrific asset for us on and off the field.

Should also go well with sponsors - quite articulate.

4 year deal at $750k front load it and it definitely won’t hurt us keeping our young talent

Me

He is only 21 and he is a gun, will soon become a fan favorite and will be a vital cog in our quest for the holy grail.

A big summer woking on his 1 on 1 defending is what is needed for Lever.  Hogan will be a great training partner in that regard.

Will he be the next Rance/G Jakovich, or will he just be a better version of Jared Rivers?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
