asking price makes sense - it says to adelaide that staying is not going to happen as I'm pricing myself out of the equation...

I like PalaceDees idea. JT's vacated 9 seems a good idea!

I dunno. Strikes me as 54 sort of guy.

Pleasantly surprised by Barrett's questioning.  Wasn't letting Burton fob it off without a fight and Burton ended up sounding a dikc

What did Barrett say

Football Boss, Burton just stated Melbourne is Lever’s preferred club. On SEN now.

game on. now Adelaide are saying Lever wanting Melbourne is 'all good and well' but we are negotiating with 10 Victoria clubs.

I think they need reminding of the Scott Thompson deal for a late first rounder.

And how they sooked it up big time last year when they weren't wanting to pay too much for Gibbs. Hypocrites.

It's well known in industry circles that when it comes to trading, we play fairer than most.

BRETT BURTON: Extremely disappointed that Lever is leaving. His decision is financially motivated.

Yeah it has nothing to do with living in that dump Adelaide and wanting to be back home in Vic.

Very good point. Unfortunately too many South Aussies here seem to forget that.

This.

I think burton might not be the best person to be negotiating deals. I mean aren't most negotiations involving player's contracts financially motivated?

Wasn't Eddie Betts move financially motivated in their favour also?

Oh the hilariousness of  GEN X' talking about finical motivation as a taboo reason, and trying to tarnish an image, when GEN 'Y's really couldn't give a fark about taboo and are pretty transparent about rationales...

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
