It looks like Kent, Garlett, Jetta and Hibberd will be fit for round 1. Whether they are picked due to lack of match practice is another question

Was there a thread or match report for the hit out the guys had on Friday?

DD36 reposted a BigFooty post from Vital Dread in the Casey Preseason thread page 2 post 33.  Too hard to link on my mobile.

Lol.

Whenever Burgo conducts these injury update videos with Misson, I can't help but laugh.

It looks like Misson is having the shittest time of his life talking about it and Burgo seems scared to ask about anything and fumbles his way through the questions.

And there's rarely anything other than vague time-lines of where players are at.

Also heard nothing about how Wagner is going.

Lol everytime?

I've noticed this with almost all of his interviews. I get a real timid vibe about his work. I actually feel for him.

Hibberd has been ruled out of round 1 according to SEN.

Article now on MFC website saying he won't play this weekend at Casey or Round 1. They are being cautious with an Achilles injury. Don't think we'll see him for a few weeks. Hopefully it doesn't become long term and we can get him back soon. He'll be a key to our back line this season. Great interceptor and booming kick. Frees up Hunt more as well.

Seems a long time if someone just stood on his achillies. Who was it, Paris?

The injury updates are a waste of time.

The club gives us nothing and I know they have to be cautious about releasing info about players but it really faaarks me off.

We r left in the dark.

Saw him in the rehab group today, looked pretty fit to me and I`d say very close to returning to the main group. In fact all in rehab group moved really well. Mitch White looked OK too but did see him chatting to a trainer and pointing to his instep of his foot, but soldiered on . Maynard was in rehab and looks in superb nic, ran a lot of laps at serious 3/4 pace. Hunt as discussed in training thread looked fine, got a headknock during training so just taking it easy but should be good for round 1.

The bolded are the only ones worth mentioning, the others are playing, therefore no longer injured.

Hibberd might be a couple of weeks and Frost is pretty much right to go judging by a recent training report.  Wagner is also not far away.

The AFL site has struggled for accuracy in the past with its injury lists. Here's its current attempt at Melbourne's current list -

Sam Frost (toe) test
Colin Garland (knee) TBC
Jeff Garlett (hamstring) test
Michael Hibberd (Achilles) 1-2 weeks
Mitch King (knee) TBC
Joel Smith (toe) test
Dom Tyson (knee) available
Aaron vandenBerg (foot) 4-6 weeks

You can add "season" in place of TBC after Colin Garland's name.

Anyone know on which date the club's own injury list get published?

At a date of their choosing...

more likely to be early hours of the morning (say 1-2am)...

mentioning all injured players as 4-6 weeks...

then having the list removed some 59 seconds after being published

 Moral of the story - Published injury lists are a waste of time and you are better of listening to the DL members with an ounce of credibility :)

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
