ADMIRED PAST PLAYERS FROM OTHER CLUBS

Featured Replies

The two old timers I really admired were the great South Melbourne players Bobby Skilton and Ron Clegg. Skilton was an amazing rover, tough and fearless with great skills. Ron Clegg was a magnificent centre half forward or centre half back. He played brilliantly in either position. How I wished we had them in our team. Just wondering who others may have admired in other teams.

Jono Brown - Self preservation did not exist in his world.

Robert Harvey - Seemed like he was around forever.

Dane Swan - Man runs like he is wearing gumboots, but boy he could play.

Johnny Platten - Never forget his tangle of untamed curly hair flapping in the wind as he flew through the center to deliver the ball with precision.

Just to name a few.

I was beginning to like you wiseblood - you have just stuffed that up.

jonathan Brown - fearless. Would have loved him at CHF for us, roaming around the forward line with Neiter.

Garry Ablett snr

[censored] of the highest order, but boy could he play. Never before or since have I seen one player dismantle opp teams like he did

Ethan, you have a bit of a Modra-look about you.  Are you two related?

skilton, polly farmer, baldock, kevin murray, hudson, peter moore (collingwood), peter knights, jezza, brad johnson,

Yeah agree with this one.

I thought Ablett snr was a little overrated, yeah he could dismantle teams but only when it was given to him, was the best at finding it himself.

Ablett senior, Craig Bradley and Peter Daicos.

I loved watching them play and especially loved watching them kick.

I've been asked if I'm related to Tom Selleck before but not Modra. Now that you mention it I can see the resemblance, he's quite handsome.

Was more thinking the Schwarzenegger/De Vito twins similarity.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
