Realistically managing the extremes of both Hogan untapped potential and Lewis experienced performance and everything in between is the answer.

Bur what a great position to be in for a change and progress since PJ seems reassuring

I picked Hogan's re-signing as I would most likely have walked away from the game if he left.  Melodramatic?  Most probably, but it would be fair to say that if he didn't, someone like Lewis may not have come to us, and the number of members would've taken a hit as I wouldn't have re-signed myself.

Option 2 might not have occurred without option1 but option 1 might not have occurred if the club had not shown the maturity and competence that it did.

Jesse is not a fool - there is more upside here than in the west and a greater chance of success thanks to the club's improvement under PJ and JM.

I took a while to pick my response but I looked at it from purely "My own" opinion and not from the greater club/public as a whole...

Thus I chose Option 2 as I was already personally confident that Jesse would sign so for ME the most important aspect of this post season has been the signing (upon request) of Jordan Lewis...

This is huge in the scheme of things...

Just people wait until NEXT year's post season... We will go BANG! and recruit a genuine gun of the competition who will see that the possibility of bringing this great club back to the top is an opportunity one doesn't want to miss being involved in...

The days of good list management and quality player development are upon us my friends!

In Melbourne I trust

None of the above, just doing all the business with a minimum of fuss, Josh Mahoney being the mouthpiece, and evervbody in and out being treated with respect, that will make us a destination club, along with the onfield success

Could be argued that a) it's yet to fully play out and b) set in motion long ago; but the realitively seamless transition to Goody is a big part of that getting on with things with a minimum of fuss.

Full cread to PJ and Roos.

OTHER :    Not really caring about the draft for the first time in a long long while

Saty and Reverend have some interesting points.. Good to retain Hogan but we would still be on track had we not ( but better to have )

Its where we find ourselves currently holistically for mine, and thats the sum of ALL parts.

Very close to my thoughts, but I would say the assurance and competence the club showed.  We didn't leak like so many clubs (and like we used to).  We had clear goals which we achieved with a minimum of fuss.  When the opportunity arose we got the Lewis deal done with no fuss, quickly and cleanly.  The Hogan signing is a symptom of the overall improvement in the club.

I needed a new poll for the homepage. This is the best I could come up with. It's probably a choice between the first two. Feel free to discuss.

Easy, the continuation of recruiting contested ball tough types of footballers.  It is uniting all around the club in solidarity.

The lessons aren't lost on these real footy people, who are transforming this club back into respect, with a fire & brimstone foundation.  You can see all falling back into line, with this original footy philosophy.

Dunno, did he jump of his own accord, or was it the encouragement to that did it ?

We are almost out of the old weak rear-enders.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
