AFL 360 - Best Season

So I was wrong, when the line up for the season was announced I was thinking the one show I didn't mind 'about' footy would be lost in a giggle for a suspended Essendon player.

Mark Robinson - while still a nong in many respects, has become much more considered with his questions (maybe better script writers - his print hasn't improved that much) and I find his love of football believable.

I think the research behind the scenes is strong and been well impressed with some of the research.

I think the Demons have been given a fair crack.

People need to get off Gils back I reckon he's thinking about the game long term.

I also think the music editor does a good job fwiw.

How Robbo is allowed on TV is beyond me, i find it very difficult to watch.

If they put someone who spoke at a normal pace on the show it would be 40min shorter. Robbo pads it out a bit. That aside i dont think Robbo is really that bad there are many in the media would avoid before him.

I agree RE: music - everything from Gary Numan to The Angels, good stuff.

At least with Robbo you know what your getting, he wears his heart on his sleeve. Met him a few times and he always takes the time for a chat. Even if he was staggering about in stained tracksuit pants eating a fruit salad to try and sober up 45 mins before the Dees' first game 2015! ;)

I hadn't watched it at all before this year TBH, but decided to watch the episode with Jesse Hogan and assumed people on here were just exaggerating regarding Robbo.

I was wrong. He really did look and sound drunk, and his questions were inane and irrelevant.

Won't watch it again.

I found the show far more interesting with Sheahan filling in for Robbo a few months back. Some actual journalistic questions for a change, it simply embarrassed Robbo's usual drivel (even though the chemistry with Gerard is unmatched).

What irks me is their regular guests. They have the same coaches, same players and same guests every single week. It got really tedious hearing Paul Roos waffle on and dance around questions, now it's just boring having to hear Buckley justify every single Collingwood decision on Mondays, or Lewis talk about how amazing Hawthorn are and Riewoldt talk about how shithouse Richmond are (then rail off excuse after excuse about underperformance). They desperately need to shake up their guests because it's boring as hell having the same voices every night.

Not to mention parading around a convicted drug cheat on Thursdays as some kind of good bloke! The very definition of jobs for the boys.

I think that's a good point 'Saber'.

They probably wanted to get some sense of continuity but would be better if they rotated all the coaches & a mix of players through, it does get a bit the same.

I don't mind "Molly" with Gerard, makes for an interesting dynamic.

ive got a love/hate thing with Robbo. he represents the everyday footy loving bloke i reckon.  can be hard to listen to but he does love the game and is honest and even mildly amusing at time

4 shows a week is way too much but I watch once or twice a week usually unless the Mrs is hogging the IQ with masterchef, block and all that rubbish

Paul Roos was the master of nothing answers, but i disagree on Buckley. As much as i hate the collingwood filth, particularly their president, Bucks gives insightful answers, treats Slobbo's long-winded rambling questions with contempt and can see his baiting a mile away.  He clearly either doesn't like or respect Robbo, probably both, and is the antithesis of Roos and other cliché filled media experts.

I normally quite like the show, but last night was horrendous.

a little love in, they should have got a hotel room.

They were too gutless to ask Dill the likeable any tough questions at all.

how no-one put the question to Dill on whether he thinks that it is right for the druggies to get pick 1 as a reward for having their season ruined by a punishment for systematic drug cheating is beyond me.

they were both weak and cowardly journalists last night

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int

    POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood

The Dees played insipid, error riddled & uninspiring footy all night and in a lightning delayed match they eventually succumbed to Collingwood by 46 points at the MCG in the final game of the year. Thank God this season is finally over. Bring on 2025.
