I am never sure what answer is appropriate with negative questions.  So I will go with no. Or was that yes?

Correct. Out in the media today saying he won’t be offered a position.

Makes sense.

I’m glad the club gave him a chance to prove himself but it appears he just didn’t show enough to warrant a spot. Pity, it would have great to see the Farmer name in the red and blue again.

Let’s hope that if true, Kobe learnt through the club/coaches and not the media. I would also hope that players get some counselling and support after being cut or not offered a place. It’s still disappointing for the player that his expectations have not been fulfilled.

He would have had to look pretty hard to find out via the media

I Only found 2 references to Kobe in the past 12 hours one of them is a fox sports article simply stating the fact that he played last week with no update on his status

https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-news-2021-majak-daw-melbourne-demons-list-spots-train-on-players-kobe-farmer-kye-declase/news-story/7f7c8c982519fdaf6c31f5bb7480717e

The other is a Herald Sun article I'm pay walled from reading that Google quotes 'looks unlikely to receive a spot' which sounds like opinion and even if true is not really new information.

Link?

Are you saying it's 'out in the media' already or it will be announced?

Will not be offered a contract. The clubs preference is for him to go to the Stingrays for the season with no guarantee going forward.Would have been a great story but if his last name wasn’t Farmer he would not have been invited to train. Love that the club gave him the opportunity but if you are not good enough then you are not good enough.

Thanks mate.  Hope that gives him a bit more motivation to prove the doubters wrong. I'm sure the club will still keep a keen eye on him.

Makes sense we would advise him to get some more experience at a lesser albeit talented level.  Go away, work hard and if you are tracking well, there is a spot for you next preseason to prove yourself after a year more footy. The opportunity is there if he is good enough, obviously just not in 2021 at senior level for MFC.

Will definitely watch his progress with interest, i don't think we are giving up on this one just yet!

Why wouldn’t you list him with Casey Demons (where we can keep an even closer eye on him and he would be training/playing with senior list players)? I am sure Casey players are outside our cap.

I think they'll still be able to use him as the 23rd man, but another under age season (although as an overager), might be much more beneficial for him rather than just playing against full grown men.

Yes, "toughen up" is working out great as a life philosophy for the over 2,500 men who commit suicide each year.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
