So after an orgasmic evening reading DL last night - the hand brakes are on - no confirmation of Lewis, nor Hibberd -   Rockcliff to Hawthorn. Not sure I can wait the requisite 3 more days for all to be confirmed!

Be cautious with that handbrake  Dan!

Anyone interested in Kurt Tippett for a couple of seasons, on the proviso the Swans pay a chunk of his contract? He fills a glaring need for us as a proven ruck/forward

I think this is the sort of trade in we would chase if we thought we were right in the premiership window. We would want a pretty good deal to take him now.  We would probably look at more of a 'developer' if we see our premiership window is 3-5 years away.    It is a 'need', and if Sydney pay a hefty chunk of his salary, I wouldn't say no, but I think they will chase  a developer for this role.

I would if Sydney paid $200-300k of his supposed $800k salary.

So when did Rockcliff to Hawthorn happen? It's not on the AFL app.

Anyone else we could be targeting? No idea why we are not into Nankervis or Vardy for the backup ruck spot

Who says we aren't?  Vardy seems keen elsewhere and Nankervis may be happy up north.  We have no idea if we've made enquiries or not.  I think this trade period should be proof enough that lots of things are going on behind the scenes that we know nothing about.

Schadenfreude moment. No comp pick for the Pies, after Brown runs to the Saints.

I can't see a Tippett trade happening.  He has 2 more years at Sydney on ~$800k/year and he's 30 early next season.  A team would have to offer him 4 years at similar money to convince him to move.  That would be crazy.

Frost, brown and Marsh all traded out.

I guess the ever durable Ben Reid is going to play all key positions at the back then?

The pies are rooted and it is all their own doing.   whwhahahaha!

They have Keeffe (?) resuming from his St Kilda Festival suspension but yes, they look a bit light on in defence. How would Dunn look in black & white stripes ?

Wouldn't the fact that they have brought in mayne and wells as free agents completely obliterated any chance of getting compo for brown?

Yes, and an opportunity for Garland perhaps?

Imagine Howe's face lining up down back in round 1 next to Dunn and Garland.

As it stands, Lewis and Hibberd are the only two players we are talking to.

We never spoke to Rockliff and Gawn isn't going anywhere.

Dodoro and Lewis are the only things holding up the Hibberd deal.

I have heard the Lewis deal will likely be finalised before the Hibberd deal.

It makes sense if one reads the play and what has been said today.

But don't say it too loudly...
