Lewis can have an extra werk off before the finals.

Hawthorn are allowed 1 free head punch per game.

A very average/lucky team is going to win the Grand Final this year.  While the season's been even and exciting, there isn't the high quality team or two that we've enjoyed watching for the last ten years.

Someone's gonna get lucky.

Yes, been thinking that for a while. Might be Sydney.

What's up with the Subiaco surface tonight?

Three ruckman injuring their kner on the one night is a bit coincidental.

The true test of Clarkson's worth will be the next few years, when he loses several champion players and he can't just go out and take replacements from other clubs. Destination clubs are those that have an immediate future and Hawthorns is not looking all that good.

Chip must be pondering the future at the moment.

Ling inadvertently made a good point a moment ago. Hawthorn's loss tonight will give Sydney a massive eye on top spot. That can only be good for us.

Are Hawhtorn lacking depth and players coming through the VFL? This would be the only explanation for Brad Hill getting a game.

Brad hill is the weak link in the Hawks right now. Hopefully he keeps being played. They're one short with him on the field and I don't care how many premierships he's won.

Or one get out of jail DUI, or one coach manhandling a supporter, or 2 players coercing a women after the premiership.

I still think there is a lot of life left in Hawthorn.

Low-life!!

Hmm, Hawthorn don't turn up to their second game in three weeks! They really should start turning up to games instead of consistently not turning up. Silly Hawks.

Yes Dennis, West Coast back in the premiership race!

That is of course until they loose to Adelaide next week, and then loose an elimination final to the Dogs at Sh|tihad Stadium!

Watching hawthorn get beaten is never boring for me. I'm loving it!

This times 10.  The Hawks verballing the umpires doesn't seem to be having the desired effect.

I reckon Duryea is a weak link too. Hodge is just about finished too - the rich man's Nick Maxwell. And I love it.

Oh and Breust is a soft footballer. Looks flashy when they're skiing downhill with perfect delivery to him, but it'll be interesting to see how he goes in a Hawthorn team that lacks dominance.

Best thing out of that is that Sydney have a home final to play for tomorrow against north. Win their next two and they will be top 2

Now just need Collingwood to knock them over next week...

Not going to happen though. BT's bias is laughable. He really is thick as two planks (yes, I know he's also a part of the media trying to pump up Round 23).

With Hawk loss plus  nic nat and ceglar injured, the door opens a touch wider. ;)

Early word is Ceglar and Nick Nat have torn their ACL's, that is terrible. Both injured in almost the same spot. Good ruck men are hard to find and both would effectively miss most of next year.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
