  1. 1. What would you do if you found 3 x $100 notes on the road near your kids primary school?

    • Keep it and sleep easy knowing you had a win (which doesn't happen everyday)

    • Hand it in to the local police station and hope it magically makes it's way back to it's rightful owner

    • Share the experience in detail with the school principal, keep the money and sit tight for a week and wait if anyone goes to the office in the hope there is still honesty in the world

Take it cops and tell the school since the person who lost it is likely to ask there first and may not go to the cops. That way no one at the school can steal it, an no cop will dare steal it either since you'll tell them you told the school.

But in all probability the person who lost it is a crim or a tax dodger.  $100 notes are largely in their hands. So they may not go to the cops and you'll get it later on.

What happens if the person who lost it knows roughly where they dropped it. There's CCTV cameras in the area which capture old man KrazyJay putting it in his pocket and walking away. KrazyJay's kids go to the school and he's recognised on the CCTV footage. Parents will talk and his kids will have to leave the school. They'll grow up hating their Dad and may become criminals themselves.

Just saying....

Lol come on!

1. How are they going to know exactly when and where they dropped it?

2. Which cop shop in the WORLD is going to waste time chasing up some pleb's $100 that they lost?

Again, you've made it a legality issue, not a moral one. Seems your choice is dictated by the potential albeit slim possibility of you being canned in public for picking up a random $100 bill :P

OK.... Thanks for all the responses...

My wife really wants to just keep the money but I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that some poor family at our kid's school may not be eating dinner this week

...........Actually, let's be honest... I'm the dodgy ba$tard that wants to keep the cash but my wife is an amazingly honest woman and will not allow that to happen....

So she is off to the cop shop tomorrow

I am slightly disturbed by this as we have watched Underbelly together before!

What about option 5: Donate it. No guilt for you and no worries about honesty from others.

And it's tax deductable! Everybody wins... except of course the money's rightful owner who should have some say on where it ends up. What if it was a forgetful pensioner's livelihood?

Give it into the local cop shop. If the owner doesn't prove it belongs to them (which is almost impossibleto do) within a given time frame, it will become property of the finder, who can then donate it if they wish.

The charge for keeping a reasonable amount of money is larceny I believe

Here endith the lesson.

BTW, this is not stalking stuie

Ethan's post #21 and Chook's #26 have both reaffirmed my deepest love for this forum!

And this whole thread has given my wife a disturbing insight into where I hang out during the "me" time in my life

Could be a good life learning opportunity for the kid/s.

Or...... You could donate it to the next Jesse Hogan contract. May get us over the line Krazy.

This is probably the single biggest factor in MY allowing it to be handed in as young Will is well aware of what his Mother found on the ground...

And as for Jesse, on current form I may even get change :)

With the Dees at 501 to 1 for the Flag, I'd bet the lot and use the $150,000 to pay for my grandkids to have a damm good education. Put it back into the Education System I say!

If you give it to the police, they will announce that an amount of money has been found. That amount, according to them, will be $50. They will trouser the rest and you will have foregone a $300 windfall. Use a bit of common sense man, keep it. And..........marital tip no. 28............ If you ever have any amount of cash money, never tell your wife. Honesty may be the best policy, but not every single time!!!!!

The wife and I are having a moral dilemma...

I realise this is not football related but I need as much exposure before the mods rightfully shift it to the General Discussion section :)

Post this on a non football thread or at least head it so we know what your talking about. This isn't an agony column any more

You sure a Krazy Jay....

If I found money on the road near my kids primary school I'd not be as worried about the money as I would be the kids I never knew about.

It was probably dropped by a drug trafficer so if you kept it, it would be "proceeds of crime "!

I initially said I am happy for it to be moved to a "non football thread"

Thanks for your input though.... If I knew it fell out of your pocket I would have spent it already

I made it a football topic with my first reply. Out of the goodness of my heart, and to protect you, Mr Jay, from the savages of this board.

If you need a good home for one of those hundies...

OK, thread can be moved/closed/deleted...

It has served it's purpose.... Thanks to all who have contributed....

The $300 that my wife found just after picking the young Demon up from school will be taken to the local cop shop tomorrow....

The kids will be present during this exchange to encourage them to always "Do the right thing"

Clearly I would've just gone to the pub and loaded up the Sportsbet account but alas.... Times have changed

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
