Heard of full stops numb nuts? Your sentence is about as effective as Mitchell was today. Have a cry.

The obvious question after this match and the Geelong match last year is: "Where is Jesse Hogan at?"

Jessie Hogan causes logjams in our forward line. i don't think he is the merchandise he was hoped to be. he is an excellent bullocking player, maybe should play off the half-back line. No dammit, we need him.

I have said it all year, I don't think hawthorn can win the flag. Their current style of footy won't hold up in 3 finals. They sweat on opposition mistakes and use their precision from there. Not sure they will get that luxury for a whole month of finals against other top teams.

I'm overseas, is there anyone that can recommend how I go about watching a replay of it? I want to live every second of this incredible win!

Probably more likely that with Hogan there, mids don't take as much care about delivery into f50 & just bomb it to him, hoping that he's 1-on-1 not 1-on-3.

Without Hogan there, they take more care with their delivery. No reason they can't do that with Hogan there (with Weid & JW, of course!).

Just got a msg from a whorethorn mate, "we played shite, Frawley in and we would have choked you guys, you better thank the afl for your win, as the only reason your here is cause they bailed you out". He is cut deep, and I love it. Not even going to reply, just let him stew on it.

I posted this earlier in the week... I can't believe we achieved the lot...

except point 1, where we TOTALLY SCHOOLED THEM TODAY!!!!!

?????????????

What I'm most looking forward to this week:

- watching our future premiership side learning from the masters

- a 4 quarter full blooded effort

- hand balling and kicking to players wearing the same colours..... and it landing in their hands, not at their feet!

- A game where we get back to kicking more goals than behinds

- that anticipation that you get in the days leading up to the game, where you think "if we can just do this and that, we're a chance here"

small but forward likes this

Woke at 6am over here to watch the game without too many hopes of a win. My neighbours are now aware of the great win by the Dees. Still only 9.15am here but I may have to have a drink..

Oliver's game today was also a ripper, and further proof we need to trust the FD more.  He had 5 weeks out in the VFL, away from the spotlight, to work on areas of his game and freshen up, and look at the result.  They knew what they were doing and were rewarded for it.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
