Changes for next week v Swans

You would think there will be no changes to that side.

The only possible inclusion would be Garlett, but where do you fit him in?

Bugg did his hammy didn't he?

So that's one. VandenBerg looked sore and Stretch and Oliver came into the game as it went on but the latter in particular looked to be running up and down on the one spot at one stage.

Bugg for Garlett? Grimes? ANB?

Depends on the role required on a small ground I guess.

No changes.

Except 90 less fuc%$^n handballs. Against the Swans, they will destroy us if we continue to f$^^k around with the footy

Some people are never happy. Come on mate enjoy the big win over the enemy.

Wagner out for Grimes... Wagner is supposed to be in the side for his disposal and its been fairly average lately & his descion making is just as bad. Go back to Casey & work on those areas.

With Tippet out we have on serious advantage going into next week, which is the ruck.

Do we exploit that and bring in Spencer?

Just a thought.

I agree. Wagner has been pretty poor for a couple of weeks now. Needs a rest. Grimes or Lamumba if fit.

IF there's a change, the only player that deserves to come in from Casey, is Matt Jones.

Strech needs a rest?

No he doesn't. Next to Watts is our best by foot. Still had 18 possessions and was very good in the 2 previous rounds.

Getting to be a very good disposer, good by foot and hand. I'd keep him. Even if he's not taking the game apart on a weekly basis, he's not playing all that badly.

Agree that next two cabs off the rank would be Grimes and Matt Jones, but short of injuries, I don't see them getting a run.

I expect at some stage Harmes probably comes back for Trengove. I love Trenners, but the speed just isn't there right now. At the SCG against a contested ball team in Sydney I'm sure he stays.

Swans might bring in a ruck and Sam Reid, so the 3 defenders stay.

Wagner's made a few mistakes but I can't see him going out for Grimes. Grimes is a midfielder/wingman now. Should never play again at half back. So unless Grimes came in and Bugg went back I can't see that happening.

Mitch White might come in for Wagner if he was eligible for promotion from the rookie list but as far as I know he isn't.

Wagner was actually pretty good early, but he's the only one who had an average day overall. Oliver was a bit scrappy at times. Pretty much everyone else played well.

No unforced changes this week.

Wagner might not have had the best game......  But he breaks or threatened to break the line very single time....... unlike  many others, or any other that could take his spot

I think Sam Reid got injured in their reserves, was mentioned by the commentators if I recall

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
