Not enough.

Correct. His hit on Gawn deserved suspension. Although weirdly him being able to play next week makes the Lions a worse side so maybe it’s a win.

Textbook definition of a [censored] bloke.

Just a disgrace of a human on the field, and with his comments about Sandy Hook, off field too.

Just saw the video where he said that. How that got off the cutting room floor and into the public domain is beyond me. And probably a big strike against the Brisbane Lions for letting that onto their website as Alex Jones has families legally pursuing him for pushing that stuff.

He is absolutely awful.   His decision making, free kicks against and disposal were horrendus on sat nite.  Why would you want him suspended. Prefer him in the starting 22 for the Lions every week.

Rhys Mathieson spent most of the game when he was subbed on trying to belt our players. There was at least 3 or 4 incidents.

Nakia Cockatoo did it to Jack Viney too when he flipped Jack over and he landed on his backside or hip. However, he did more damage to his own player Daniel McStay with that accidental knee or foot to the face though.

Grant Birchall did it as well when he kneed Clayton Oliver in the back or kidneys. That was incredibly dirty and dangerous. But he is a former Hawthorn player so it isn't surprising. In fact, Clayton Oliver always get belted by someone and we definitely need to make mention of this to the umpires.

The Melbourne Demons players need to be wary of this and protect eachother.

The Lions are a bunch of snipers that love to dish it out, but quickly go crying to the umps when the shoe is on the other foot. Dogs are like this as well.

GWS is the worst of the lot.

Mummy is literally rolled out every few weeks when he's semi fit to just belt guys in the ruck. And I won't even mention Toby Greene.

Example number 897123 that the MRO system and its plethora of fines doesn't work.

Could not agree more. Even a suspended sentence would be more effective. So many serial offenders getting fined and then using 'no suspensions' as evidence of good character; complete nonsense.

The only people seriously looking into Rhys would be his team mates and coaching staff.  His Lions comrades would have to be incredibly embarrassed when reviewing his game.

The whack on Kozzie was pathetic by itself.  However the charging into Maxy absolutely reeked of a coward footballer.

Every AFL footballer would have been watching our game and the fact he didn't have eyes on the pill or even look at the ball at any stage or try turn his body to attempt the spoil was truly humiliating.

His team mates, trying to promote a tough brand would genuinely be ashamed for his antics.

The bloody coach of the lions shouldn't get off. He's not squeaky clean either.Silly bugger.

Those plays were motivated by someone with a brain not the perpetrators..

I'm sure I heard a commentator refer to him along the lines of everybody's favorite Uncle. 🤢

He would never get a game in our team. That he keeps getting a game at Brisbane shows their poor depth. Culturally he’s a cancer. I mean he’s also a crap player which doesn’t help.

Absolutely. Greene is a grub and a thug and I hate him but he’s a sensational player. Top 5 in the AFL when he’s on song.

So what? I don't like his song repertoire.

He truly is The Barometer

when he plays, the Lions play poorly and generally lose

If Mathieson isn't the worst footballer in the league I don't know who is.

I can't believe Richmond Picked up Parker, I thought he was pretty close. Admittedly hasn't been to bad at Richmond. And good on him.

As seen elsewhere, he's more rectal thermometer than barometer.

It goes against the spirit of the game. Another way of interpreting it is 'bringing the game into disrepute'. The head honchos at AFL House seem to love preventing such actions from taking place, yet they continue to bury their head in the sand over this farcical behaviour.

Selwood has created a monster - the AFL condones the clones' cheating and deceiving. Umpires aren't as smart as they were years ago.

To an extent. I thought some of Mitch Robinson's antics were pretty embarrassing also. Not thuggish but certainly not great.

Him swearing after the siren was gold. Not so soft now are we Mitchy?
God I despise him. Bog ordinary footballer with a pseudo tough guy persona.

That was not deliberate at all... he was contending for the ball in a way that happens numerous times in any match.  It was purely bad luck; just a footballing incident where no one is to blame.

He completely lost it at the umps at one stage in a fashion that really should result in a fine if we're trying to protect umpires and set a good example. Not a huge issue, players from all teams have done it, but that kind of stuff isn't on. Otherwise I thought he was fairly restrained.

I thought I’d post this here to warm the hearts of all who have contributed to this thread. 🤓

Good, we always need more villains to vituperate against. Selwood and Greene can’t do the job on their own. He provides an outlet every supporter needs or else they will over abuse designated whipping boys or kicking pets.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
