Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The two 'not 15' decisions on are the Herald Sun website. Each kick every bit of 15m.

If you didn't see it. the kicks were in succession (first one a kick in) and cost the Saints a goal.

Drain Russell comments that the second kick was close to 20m.

No doubt.  It was clearly a mark.  Terrible umpiring.

Not too dissimilar to the ones we weren't paid last weekend either.  Clearly they went 15m.

The umps have obviously been told to be harder on this, but their ability to judge the distance is appalling.

We are so quick to jump to outlandish conclusions on this site.

Are you actually watching the game, mate? I'm watching his body language. No, I don't know for certain, but geez, you jump down posters throats at the drop of a hat.

Prestia also looks unusually sluggish and doesn't seem to be using his voice at the stoppages like he usually does.

I am as a matter of fact.  He's not having a good day, but to suggest it means he is coming home is over the top.

He looks like a guy who is still a little rusty after missing heaps of footy.  I put his 'sluggishness' down to still working his way back to match fitness.

If he had done this for weeks then I would be more inclined to agree.  But cut the bloke some slack.  One poor game does not mean he is running around out there with one eye on Victoria.

For a bloke who is an absolute ball magnet and clearance machine, he's played all four games this year. His first week against Essendon was good and since then he's been pretty quiet. He's still managed 24 touches twice and then 20 tonight, but the cobwebs were blasted out in the first week. We're now a month into the season and it's the big Q clash. Lots of feeling in the game and he just didn't look interested to me.

Fair enough.

Gee I hope Stringer looks a bit disinterested tonight.  A sure sign he wants out and I hope the Dees are all over it.

It's certainly something that needs to dragged from the court of arbitrariness. Today it cost the Saints a game: though, they brought it on themselves with their shocking turnovers. It reminded me of the way my beloved demons play.

Why is Patty Cripps hardly being used as an inside mid, he seems to be playing as a high half forward, he's way to good a mid to not be right in the middle.

I'm not sure he has the skills to play as a half forward. He's not quick enough either. Gun inside mid, but you're right, mate. Seems to be spending more time outside of the centre square.

Mark Neeld tried to do the same thing to Jack Trengove and i remember thinking the same thing, if someone shows a heap of promise, keep them in that position, it'd be like us deciding to play Clayton oliver off half back.

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
