Being footy fans and keen Demonland posters, we all think we have at least a reasonable working knowledge of the great game of Aussie Rules.

How many times have we sat watching a game and thought to ourselves, or said to friends or family, I knew that was going to happen? And who doesn't like being right?

In this thread, I'd like us all to have a bit of fun predicting things that will happen during games, comments that will be made by the media, and any other amusing footy-related stuff.

Over to you fellow Demonlanders....

My first prediction is that the commentators tonight will fawn over Essendon and use the line "heroic effort" at least twice during the game.

As well, in each game at least one player will deliberately put the ball out of bounds and then exclaim his innocence when pinged for it, McAvaney will exclaim that we are witnessing something special, and a Selwood brother will end up wrapped up like a mummy.

Gut feeling that Essendon will win. As much as I would hate them to win, it would make last weeks loss the slightest bit easier to swallow. The slightest.

I hate to agree on this point, Ethan, but unfirtunately I do. By the end of the round, Essendon will be ahead of us on the ladder. Boy do I hope I'm wrong.

I am predicting that neither the bombers or port are god enough to beat each other and it will be a draw. Or Port will smash them.

I think 'Bruce' will say something like,    "well he's always been good at kicking goals"  ah there ya go.

I also predict that one of the Channel 7 team will make a really bad attempt to speak Chinese with the game being broadcast into China.

Essendon are handing this win to Port.  A complete different team than we saw last week.

Port by a landslide.

Way off WAM. 'Twas a five goal lead a third of the game earlier than your crazy left-field suggestion.

It's not about dulling the pain Maple

it's about demanding a better effort from our "elite" football team.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
