Beautiful night. The smoke from the BBQ where they do the bacon and egg rolls (and now hamburgers as well - very filling) was just hanging above the ground for at least the whole first qtr.

Several players have made good contributions but none has dominated for the whole time they've been on. Maybe Trac has been the most in the play so far. Others who have done very well are ANB and Gus, and probably O Mac. Those with reasonable cameos include Pedo, Mitch White, Hunt, Viv. Saw very little from JKH before his injury. Garland hasn't done anything special.

I guess ill be the one to ask, anyone think Trascca could debut vs the Pies next week?  Or if not next week vs the Tigers the week after?

Is Trac playing midfield or high half forward?

Yeah forgot to mention Weeds. Been alright. Getting around and is good at chasing up when they try to run out of defence. Has had a few attempts at pack marks but he's not quite big and strong enough yet to dominate those and has had a few bounce off his hands when jostled. He has time to grow and will be much better for a bit more beef to help him stand his ground. Showing pretty good endeavour though.

I'd highly doubt this week and be very doubtful for the Tigers game. At most 50/50 for the saints game imo

Lots of love from the boys for Trac when he kicked a goal from 45. Big embrace from Gus in particular.

Plenty of lip, super confident, smarts around goal - that much reminds me of Jason Akermanis.

I would like him against the pies.

He could then rag doll 3 pies, to make up for the 3 hat rag dolled Watts.

But I think the Anzac Eve game looks likely.

I wouldn't put him in yet. Think they are still managing his time on the field so he would not be able to contribute a full game.

But then we've seen the selections this year already so I've got no idea what they'll do.

Brayshaw in space on the wing fluffs the kick, barely off the ground over 5 metres. Turnover, goal Frankston.

Speaking of the dolphins they arent great, casey will need to ensure they run this game out with no bench.

Loss of mitch king not a huge impact as the frankston ruckman is a total goose. Not even sure he knows where he is at the mo.

Weideman wont debut next week. Shows good signs but when the balls on the deck up the ground he seems to make poor decisions and has a few turnovers as a result.

For those wondering petracca is predominantly at half forward, few stints through the middle. Hes exciting but not dominant. His brother looks exactly like him, assuming he is who i saw.

Brayshaw the dominant player on the ground and anb is working into it the longer it goes as expected with his endurance.

Michie does not have enough tricks and wont make it.

From the twitter seems like they are snapping points at well. Any chance they want to put it through the hands a bit and take better shots??!

Garland's a mouse,  how is he part of the leadership group lol.

Weeds - nice mark on the wide flank and wobbler of a set shot that went through for a goal.

The radio callers are getting every 3rd or 4th name wrong on the far side of the ground. Don't believe all you hear.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
