This is a disgraceful thread/idea.

The current players are innocent and this is mean- spirited at the least.

What goes around comes around. Draft fixing by us a few years ago?

Oh wait- that didn't happen did it?  Chris Connolly said so didn't he?

I will be ashamed to be part of a demon crowd tomorrow that participated is this process, not to mention the example so-called adults are setting to younger fans in the crowd.

These matters are about passion,  & allowing the passion out in expression.   We all feel this,  but you want to be deceitful of your feelings & not let them show?   Or you just prefer to keep stiff upper lips D17..   either way you will be disappointed,  as people will boo,  hiss,  turn their backs,  remain silent,  etc,  as a protest.

They will express how they feel about this club & its actions....  & so they should.   This IS why we have brains,  voices,  ears;  to communicate what is on our minds.

Footy is all about letting of steam  & forgetting about all the weekday humdrum,  & letting the hair down.  Let your true self out D17,  Do not be ashamed of yourself.  Life is too short to be so uptight.

One of the better pieces of pop psychology I've seen in recent times in response to my views. Hits all the key jargon without thinking about the issue itself. Good effort.

yes, I did think about this but really value your opinion also.

I'd like to be ashamed but my self esteem is just too high I guess.

Booing cheaters is disgraceful? You're right, maybe we should all get behind Sheeds and march in support of it instead.

What exactly are the players "innocent" of? They have been found guilty by the court of arbitration for sport of being drug cheats. They are only "innocent" in the same way we are "innocent" of tanking, in that we absolutely tanked, and were just lucky enough that the AFL's kangaroo court wasn't questioned on that occasion. It truly boggles the mind to see the rainbows and unicorns world some "adult's" live in.

It is not the current players that are the disgrace.

It is the administration that oversaw the program, still not taking responsibility for their actions. That should be BOOed!

I'm not in favour of their support for the banned 12.

I've read this four times and still have not the faintest idea what it means.

What it means is: if you're going to the game and it goes ahead,  bare it.....because I reckon we must have had the most vocal anti- Essendon messages of

vitriol going around. There that wasn't so hard was it?

This is a game that we have to win and we have to win comprehensively.  Essendon is using this match as protests of their innocence. We need to stand up for all of the other clubs and the football community as a whole and show them that cheaters will not prosper.

When Jimmy died I expected the Dees to stand up and make a statement by coming out fighting and win in that next game but they didn't, we played poorly and lost.

Tomorrow we will have a new team out on the field I expect them to standup and come out fighting and to deliver a big win.

The Sheedy jacket waving thing is so cringe inducing .. wow.

Tomorrow we play not just for the Melbourne Football CLub, but for every sporting team not named Essendon.

In the name of clean sport we must annihilate them.

Despie your incredibly bad moniker, I agree.

We must win for every clean team out there. I do like CP5 and he'll be here sooner rather than later.

He was looking good on Wednesday. And he knows it. Alan Jakovich said, talent can get you so far, hard work will make you win.

Alan Jacovich said that??

I would have thought he used every inch of talent he had,  but I'm not sure he worked very hard on what he had!

Interesting comment! I really rated Jacovich, I saw him absolutely carve up Dustin Fletcher to the tune of 8 or was it 9 goals one day at the "G"

and by gee, When he was "on" he was a class above, nearly anyone of the time!

....  actually D17,  I have worked all the way through being polite & politically correct,  & doing the done thing most of my life,  until I woke up to all the inconsistencies, hypocrisy's & double standards of mainstream people.

In truth,  most everybody are  huge hypocrites,  always seeing things first thru their self-filters,  & coming up with their own choice of perceiving an angle on an issue.  without laterally examining it.  + jump to conclusions....  it always just end =s up as an etiquette,  & the truth is overlooked & lost.  So is trodden all over,  for political correctness.  sad.

People Need an escape & Need to let out their pent-up frustrations;   just as the northerners do,  but they use whinging & whining,   & being judgemental,  looking down on people  for their stress relievers, once they feel convinced of their own vindications.

OI hope you truly are free,  & don't feel inhibited by significant others expectations of courteousness,  in the place of truth & honest expression over beliefs.  If you believe more in this courteousness,  over truth of your feelings & desire for things to be put right,  your maybe too content within a comfortable existence ?

---------------------------

So no I do not adhere to sitting on hands with lips buttoned,  & being  'prim & proper'  when it comes to righting wrongful issues.

I encourage all who feel like it,  to jump up & down if they like,  yell, shout,  turn their backs if they want,  & express their democratic power to show how they feel.

If they want to send a message to the AFL,  about how its managing the game,  siting down quietly in your booked seat,  is not going to cut any mustard.

yes that's right,  but the protest would be against the Bummers club;  & by extension,  at the AFL as well.   And also at the bummers arrogance & refusal to accept they did really bad things to the players,  & at the same time to this game.

the Bummers & they're media people,  where some of the most viscous against the Dees,   for the List Managing we did,  which we followed most others lead.

I reckon the Bummers must cop they're lot,  & that will 'get it',  all season long.

I agree with these sentiments,  we have to put the sword to those Bummers,  & vocalise our intent  & disgust  from the second they come out...

WE Have to do this for the Robbie Flowers,  the Jimmy Stynes  of this world,  players/people  who would be disgusted by the way that bloody club has acted,  regarding 'the worst act of bringing this game into disrepute',  there has ever been.

'Give  'em  Hell',   Demons  !!!

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
