Dee's training..

I arrived there and H, Watts, King, Petracca boxing ...

TRENGOVE! in the main group.

I got there about 10 ... they were doing lane work but with a guy in between so they would hit up spin and then stab ... Yes stab the ball hard!! And most were hitting targets ... mainly watched Trengove. He looks sharp! Hope he pulls up well. Hunt looks fast. The boys real revving into i about something.. Was funny..

Whilst there was lane work, there was a complicated 3 man weevish handball going.. Good intensity.. Macca yelling get the young kids a touch early, get them one in the first 30 seconds..

Then they went into circle work but would finish off with a goal at either end.. Kent moving well..

(Dawes took a mark)

Hullet is a monster and could start Rd 1 based on size.. Don't know about his kicking though.. All skills good.. Only misses I saw were from Spencer, Vanders, Wagner and TMac..

Boys still boxing..

They then moved to a halfback/wing/fwd drill.. Quick hands, play on at all costs.. Where my favourite part of the session happened.

Viney just ripped TMac to the ground, smashed his head face first ala Ablett tackles.. Tmac grab his neck and told him that's stupid.. Viney "you're a sook go play netball" God I love Viney!!

Atm Dawes currently working with King (#34) and Weiderman.. Teaching them how to use their body in marking contests..

Oliver running laps..

Notes: Grimes is looking the fittest I've seen him and didn't miss a target or drop a mark.. Jones looks 100%.. Bugg is small.. But fast.. Kent looks to have that arrogance of a Dane Swan..

Didn't see Vince.. And Goodwin pretty much ran training..

(There are still going)

They just finished 10 minutes at either end of trying to clear the ball from FB.. Just called drinks after Bugg nailed one from 50..

All that reads as quite surreal lol.

We may have turned that corner :)

Stab ?..... You mean REAL stab passes. Wow. Loved to have seen that.

Thanks Coop.

Was Trenners doing the whole session? Did he kick both feet?

No I only saw a right foot.. And he trained for about an hour.. And then went to the (mobile rehab group) with Salem & Oliver.. He was taking marks on a body bag and practicing marking one on one with it..

Yeah.. I mean flat and hard.. Not quite like the Ox.. But they were fast and off two steps.. Like short hit up stuff that the good teams like Hawthorn and the Eagles do with out thinking!

Awesome. But its probably a bit stupid at this point too. Still you maybe can't turn that aggression on and off. You either have it all the time (which Viney does) or you maybe you don't....

even if trenners only kicks R foot this whole season, that is fine with his kicking...   that gives his foot less loading over this next 12 months whilst it gets stronger from playing.

Last passage I watched. Hunt kicked out long to Gawn pack mark. Played on hit ANB, who turned and hit Brayshaw done the middle. Handed off to ? Who  hit Garlett in a pocket over the top. Play on goal.. No fumbles clean from defence! Pow!!

We need to instill across the list & TMac has to adopt it as well.

Dawes retiring before round 1??

Looked very sore on his knee.. Limped back to the wing..

Left calf strapped for Dawes.

Matt Jones and Grimes both copped head knocks but seem fine.

Brayshaw, Viney, Tyson, Kent finding plenty of the pill in the match sim. And Gawn.

Watch Wagner closely in the NAB Challenge, if Salem isn't right to go, based on what I saw today he'd have to be considered for a rd 1 spot

exactly... i guess the old adage of training like you want play unfortunately also extends to tackling. I did make me laugh that 178cm/ 80kg Viney told 194cm/ 92kg McDonald to stop sooking.. - it aint netball.

What makes you think Salem won't be right for round 1? Was he in rehab all session? Has he re-done his hammy?

if he's copped another bad hammy, than no way he plays round 1.

Viney's fault too.

Salem was in rehab but doing a heap of work.

Hulett the latest to cop one between the eyes.

Brayshaw and Vanders had a nasty collision but seem fine.

Im going to leave before we run out of players.

9-7 drills for a solid half hour. Good transition but so it should be.

No Stretch or Vince today. They'd have a field day in this drill.

Goal post padding coming down and the cones are out for the sprints

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
