I'm not at all surprised by this latest development.  What I am surprised at his how so many have no real inclination to look at this issue from a much much broader perspective - and at the heart of the matter lies the issue with PED use.

PED use is at rampant levels across any number of sports - it's not just the EFC,  it's not just cycling,  it's not just the NRL, it's not just baseball, it's not just the NFL, it's not just the Russians,  it's not just the East Germans,  it's not just the Chinese swimming team, it's not just the USA track & field athletes and it's not just the Olympics.

Connected are the large sporting organisations with their enormous sums of monies involved ... and those monies are being protected.   Where do these PED's come from and who controls them?  Take a wild guess.

These "billion dollar" sporting organisations turn a blind eye to PED use (including the AFL) and that ends up legitimising the use of PED's in a crude sort of way.  So in steps the unruly & lawless types for the supply of these drugs.  What else could be expected?

Of course, no one wants to see anyone shot at and any sort of violence like this should be abhorred.  A man might have been killed and his original "supposed" crime was to supply PED's to sportspeople who are basically allowed to use PED's by the sporting organisations that they are connected to.

Stephen Dank warns he won’t be silenced over shooting at Melbourne home

A 'Police source' was attributed to a number of comments in the above story - some of which are a trifle baffling.  Who knows what to believe with anything surrounding this bloke but what we do know is that the shooting was very real.

Quote

He said he did not believe the shoot-up was an attempt on Mr Dank’s life, but his “murky” existence and background might make it a challenging investigation.

Police will be looking into whether it was commissioned by a disgruntled person.  But it was more than likely Mr Dank’s injury was an accident, the source said.

Make up your own mind on the injury but I can see how a 'bullet' might have caused it.  I do have my doubts though and those doubts are strong.  It was reported that he was asleep on his couch when the bullets came flying through his front door but that might not be true either.

The chances of his injury coming from a bullet aren't great but if it were anyone else, we may be inclined to possibly believe that a bullet did cause the injury.  People are so conflicted with Dank that they end up having a default mode of not believing anything he ever says.

The only accident was that the shooter missed.

Why else would they fire a gun toward him in his own house...

Often just to put the scares up someone. Not always intended to hit.

There's never  anything that's straight up about a story involving Dank though is there

If I've understood this correctly, Dank was downstairs speaking on the phone at around 2.30 am when he was shot. If that's right, I'll take a wild guess and suggest the gunshot and the phone call were related. Otherwise, how unlucky is Dank to be in a place where he could be shot at that time of night?

Just thinking about the process the Police will go through to investigate this. One task will be to rule out those people who don't want to hurt or silence him. Usually that list is longer than the one which includes those who want the victim hurt or silenced. In Dank's case, I can only think of one group who want him alive. That's the media.

What are the chances of the public finding out the truth about this incident?  We may end up finding out whether the 'graze' was caused by a bullet but I'm not going to hold my breath on that either.

"There's a lot more to this than meets the eye" was never more apt.

doubt the shooter was aiming at dank as there were 3 shots fired into the front door, others fired to an upstairs front window and the downstairs front window

Quote

Mr Dank told the Sunday Herald Sun exclusively he believed the attack was linked to his knowledge of drug use at elite sporting clubs.

“There are some anxious people from within the AFL, the NRL and ASADA with what we are about to release,” he said.

“I won’t be silenced.”

He said he did not believe there could be any other explanation for the shooting: “I don’t have enemies or debts.”

From dc's post:  He said he did not believe there could be any other explanation for the shooting: “I don’t have enemies or debts.”

I'm not sure has has a grasp on reality, either.

Dank: "I don't have enemies or debts"

Dunno, about Dank, but the sort of people I had debts to aren't the sort who shoot up houses.  The fact that he used those words speaks volumes.

So the man who WON'T BE SILENCED has cancelled an appearance at the South Bendigo Football and Netball Club on Saturday.

Why does anyone in AFL-land (or the universe) take this guy seriously.

You would think that in the time it has taken him to tell us he 'wouldn't be silenced', he could have actually said something. But as you inferred, he's been incredibly unlucky. Absolutely loving it.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
