Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Stepping onto your left and kicking a goal from 50 isn't much of a weakness to me.

I think his second goal showed this weakness. I was worried he was going to kick it like he did against Adelaide in that instance. If you can't acknowledge that his kicking is a weakness then you're only seeing what you want to see.

I think we will delist 5 players, upgrade Wagner, trade for Hibberd and grab either Zac Clarke, Michael Barlow or  as free agents/delisted free agents.

Leaves us 2 picks (3rd and 4th round) around 45 and 63.

3rd round options likely:  Brodie Romensky, Hamish Brayshaw, Oscar Junker, Willem Drew, Louis Cunningham, Jeremy Goddard.

4th round smokies or punts (past 50, the draft success rate for a 100+ game player is about less than 10%).

Patrick Naish, Sam McLarty, Brett Blair, Lachlan Walker, Lachlan Tiziani.

Sam Hayes (200 cm ruck/foward)  looks like he might be the goods but my understanding is that he is too young for this years draft.

Probably go too high for us next year anyway.

Think you're right on both counts. Jayden Stephenson the other outstanding 2017 prospect from Eastern.

Rubbish. His kicking is a strength. He's penetrating and accurate across 50 metres on either foot. His shorter kicking isn't as good, but it's certainly not an easily exploitable weakness. Gus needs to work on his tank and getting it more. If he can do that, he'll be a damaging player in 2 years time and possibly one of the top mids in the game.

Excellent.  Wouldnt it be awesome if Essendope picked a dud

Essendon and Carlton. In fact, it'd be great if this was a 2003-like draft with Richmond, Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon at the bottom. Carlton desperately need midfielders more than anyone else. Their midfield is bog average and surprisingly old. I hope SOS stuffs things up again.

3 weeks later......but if you say so, I'm sure even he would acknowledge it's an area he needs to work on. His short kicking is absolute garbage if we are being honest, he can kick to space nicely but struggles with any hit up pass. Doesn't kick through the football and floats in the air to long. If you have even been to training and watched him and Jonesy have a goal kicking contest, you can see the massive difference. Brayshaw just floats it in the air every kick and Jones kicks through the football.

You also tell everyone that Dion Prestia is a good kick so I think we have a very different opinion about the meaning of a good kick.

Yes on multiple occasions, now you either post so much that you don't remember what you say or you are asking a rhetorical question for absolutely no reason.

And no I'm not going to go through your 7000 posts to find where you have said it.

I want him in a Melbourne jumper, but I've never said that's Prestia's strength. He is a ball magnet. I want him for speed and clearances and his ability to kick a goal.

As for Brayshaw, yes, I disagree with you. I think he's a nice kick on both sides of his body, but his shorter kicking isn't as good. Is it worth a knock on him? I don't think so.

Well I guess that's another player we have very different opinions of then. Prestia has kicked 30 goals in 95 games and has OK speed.

We all have our favourites and clearly these are two of yours.

Ricky Dixon, 197cm monster who kicked 14 in a match for Calder is worth watching. Our KPF stocks can never be too healthy, especially considering Hogan's uncertain future.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
