So do you value Howe the same as Freeman?

You'd have to be within the AFL fraternity to really know.

Freeman's ceiling is a mile higher than Howe's. It's whether you punt on an unknown AFL quantity over a C-grader's 100 game output.

If I was confident in Freeman's injury I'd take his upside.

Freeman is a Saints supporter isn't he?

Freeman won't be coming to us, which maybe fortunate given that there are question marks over his 'competitor' value.

IF that is so our recruiters will not be even slightly interested in him.

This is being reported in the Age: "With St Kilda and Essendon in a similar impasse over Carlisle as the Power and Suns are over Dixon, the proposal was designed to break the deadlock in both negotiations. Under the deal raised at the weekend, Port would trade pick 10 and a future pick (probably a first-round pick) to St Kilda for pick 5. The Saints would give pick 10 to Essendon for Carlisle and Port would offer five to the Suns for Dixon. An exchange of other later draft picks may also be involved...The proposal could potentially break the stalemate in both the Dixon and Carlisle deals, but the obvious stumbling block is that either or both of Essendon or Gold Coast reject the proposition.

It looks like we will be waiting a while to see the Toumpas and Howe trades happen.
I just hope that after the Dixon/Carlisle/Treloar deals are done there is enough trading time left for us to get into the action to better our draft position.
It will be awful if when the buzzer goes and the music stops on Thursday and we miss out on something we really want.

Says who? I've only ever seen him in person or written about as a hard competitor.

Not in the last two years, you have to get on the park to compete. There is a dispute between young Freeman and his injury management at Collingwood. The Saints are obviously satisfied his hammy will be OK, so we'll see.

Freeman has attitude problems aswell. While he was ment to rehabing his hammy he was out in the wee hours of the morning on the sauce.

Instead of blaming the club for his mismanagement of his injury Freeman needs to take a good hard look at himself and pull his finger out.

You could never see a Christian Salem pulling this [censored].

Lol here comes every man and his dog that apparently has the inside scoop and knows more about the behind the scenes than the player himself and his management...

Funny you should say this, my mate who used to work at Sandringham dragons within the medical staff reckons that Freeman was out and about constantly getting absolutely throttled on the p i s s.

Same mate who told you Seedsman was going to North? Or that the Buddy situation is a cover up? Maybe the guy who told you Stef Martin just doesn't like playing for Brisbane?

Every man and his dog I tells ya...

Are you serious? Before you try and shoot me down i grew up and went to school with a current collingwood player who i have mentioned a couple of times on here who was up here before he jetted off to Bali for pendles wedding and we all caught up for a beer and we talked about several issues and Freemans name came up and funny enough he is actually quite close to him. He mentioned that Freeman had been told several times this year to pull his head in as his professionalism had not been up to scratch. While they were disappointed he asked for a trade the club was more then happy to shut the door for him on the way out.

He needs to pull his head in, easy to blame others when you're just at fault.

That's funny, that's not what the club has said...

So either I believe an anonymous internet poster giving vague indications about some kind of "mate" he has who apparently will spill his clubs inner secrets at the drop of a schooner

OR

I believe all the things Collingwood have said about wanting to keep him, Freeman's manager & Freeman himself

Yeah I know which I'll choose. Every year is the same here, apparently everyone has an inside source that knows everything behind the scenes.

Is that the same 'mate' who told him Ablett was being traded from Gold Coast to us... He's had some funny ones that's for sure.

Wrong guy. That was Hogans Heroes.

Everyone apparently has a "mate" inside the AFL this time of year...

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
