WA Crowd

Again.

His fault. Not the alcohol's.

Pretty easy to see why this behavior occurred:

  • Long weekend in WA
  • Friday evening game
  • Early knock off from work
  • Hit the Subiaco or city pubs to get a skinful
  • Easy access to booze at the game
  • Lax crowd control

We dread going to Subiaco for Melbourne games, usually don't wear our colours to avoid drawing attention from the knuckle dragging morons.

Once again, the behaviour occurred because the guy is a [censored], not because he had a drink.

It's not just the crowd, try living here, drivers are just as aggressive, the general public as a whole are quite feral.

Their idea of a holiday is going to Kuta in Bali, donning an Australian flag as a cape and going to the closest Australian themed bar.

Did I read somewhere the lady punched was an off duty police officer?

One would assume he fell on the way to the divy van..

Hope we 'fell'

An off duty police officer was assaulted but there were three reported assaults during the game.

The woman that got hit was an off duty cop. Probably not the smartest thing to do. Not that the guy knew she was one and still no excuse. Cracks me up when friends and family try to defend him. Maybe he wouldnt have been grabbed if he wasnt drinking and swearing his head off.

The off duty police officer was a male. The other two victims were female.

Maybe she is a former police officer.

PSD posted that she is a former work colleague and I am pretty sure that he has posted before that he works (maybe worked) as a police officer

Ah ok.

Where else can you hear Khe Sahn and drink VB?

You must be one of those culturally immersive types that goes to Lombok.

Agree, biggestred, there seems to be a particular sort of anti-social behavior here in WA, where the knuckle draggers feel free to act like this, most likely because most of the time there is no consequences for it.

Its best described when they say "whatta ya gonna do about it!" because they know they will get away scot free, and if you object, you possibly you get hurt by them. Unless you are bigger and uglier there is no respect shown.

Aggression plus booze is not a good mixture

You might get off Ethan.

It was a glancing blow, which she clearly provoked, and you can plead insanity .

I was thinking involuntary intoxication. Someone must have slipped something into one of my ten beers.

Ah yes, happened to poor old Bill Cosby as well.Women will try anything to get their man.

There all crazy here, half of the supporter don't even know the name of there captains but once they start making finals they all jump on board.

My wife goes for WC, I have never seen a bunch of woman scream so hard for a team they knew nothing about. Haha.

Got to give them credit though they have a lot of passion for there teams, the rivalry between the two teams is nuts!!

If they both made a Final there could have been a civil war.

He deserves to be dropped off at Manus Island...

Perhaps you've accidentally stumbled on a solution to the refugee crisis here WYL... every scumbag found guilty of committing a violent act against a woman could be shipped offshore to Manus (or dropped off the boat en route) and a refugee granted a residential visa.

The sister's surname was Yarran. Assuming she's not married I wonder if she was a relative......

The offender was a Yarran.

There are hundreds of Yarrans over here.

Drivers aggressive? My sister is over there and both our observations are that no one in Perth is in a hurry and as such can get no where near the speed limit, they all seem to dawdle along minding their own business but driving interstaters absolutely stark raving mad! Maybe that's it, the aggression on the roads is from the interstate ex pats wanting people to know what the hell they are doing on the road. No wonder people in WA plated cars seem to have no idea when they hit Melbourne traffic.

well, Marley Williams got off with no jail time and a token, meaningless penalty..... So there's your precedent. Seems that that behaviour is ok over there.

Unless you know all the facts of the matter and not what the media says happened, you shouldn't comment on this. And your post makes it clear you have no idea what actually ocured that night in Albany

The female assaulted is a current police officer and has been for some time.

The guy who punched the women has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced at the end of the month. I note the stadium has banned him for life.

How on earth do they police that if he is not a member and just buys a public ticket? And why isn't the ban extended to all stadiums and sport events in Australia?

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
