And funny how Zaharakis could say no.

Did he say no, to an injection, or yes to what, because he didn't like injections? And was he tested, for anything?

Zaka just hates needles, there's no moral high ground there.

Or it was a flimsy excuse to get himself out of the regime without pissing everyone off.

Or he said no and made up the needles thing when it all came out, to cover for his mates.

Like I said before, the players' lack of disclosure on their ASADA testing forms indicates that they were complicit. They knew, they hid it. Otherwise it's a bloody big coincidence that 34 players 'forgot' they were taking 'thymo' when filling out their forms.

From there, I infer that Zaharakis knew, didn't get involved, and made some [censored] up about needles so he didn't have to take a moral high ground stance or rat out his friends. Sounds pretty clever to me.

But really, who knows, right? The truth is buried at the bottom of a shredder.

Wow. 'Asked to go with the story', a step further than my own conspiracy theory.

Chris Kaias was a great source of clarity during the ongoing media misinformation saga (if that poster is indeed him).

Tweet from Andy Maher.

Still nothing solid (what bf post is), but very disturbing. Fits the narrative of the players knowing what was going on.

Good link, thanks Ted :)

Yeah I'd trade for him. I'd go as far as our second round selection. But I think Essendon would want more than that.

Dare say you were in the minority back then, King.

The Melk has put together a very solid month footy, The AFL season is a war of attrition as much as anything and his seasoned body is coming in very handy, especially with all the injuries we are copping.

Long live The Melkshake.

agreed, he has improved markedly since being made to earn his spot and having his role changed - he's much more damaging as a negating player up the ground than as a half-back flank

I actually didn't like the trade at the time. But I knew Essendon would ask for a second rounder (and if we wanted him we would probably have to give one). With the prospect of a WADA ban - I wouldn't of given a second round pick. He played well tonight though.

He was good last night. A bit of a silent pest. Reads the play well and has good skills in close.

His kicking still needs some work but he is playing well and deserves some love.

He and Hibberd sang the absolute sheet out of the song.  Loved it.

I enjoyed that too. I always keep an eye on the 'from other team' players to see how they sing the song, and that was easily the most gusto they have belted it out with to date. Lewis was the same.

Jake was 19 years old at the time, sees people like Hird and Thompson running the club and naturally assumes everything is above board. Some one like Fletcher taking all that rubbish at 40 though is kinda strange.

Improving nicely. He and Pig are good pick ups.

Anyone like to trade them back for a couple of 2nd round picks?

Nope, and i would tell Daniher to come and join them, as he likes putting his arms around them so much, and be happier too.....

Only if he loses the Porno Mo.

And learns to kick straight.

And get a bit of cosmetic facial surgery.

Blinkers.

Joe Daniher or Sam Weidemann?

Right now, its Danners by the length of the Flemington straight, and I'm a fan of Weids.

Sorry, realised I'm posting on a Melksham thread.

I think Goody has found his niche. He can be a stopper who also finds his own ball, and makes his opponent accountable defensively with his natural attacking instincts.

Lets hope his very recent form continues.

btw, have a look at the team song from the Eagles game. I think it's fair to say Jake is heavily invested in the club now. He was screaming the words louder than I was.

Pick 25 for the Milkshake.

God I love when we rip off Essendrug and Adrian Dodoro.

Melk and Hibbo for two second rounders, thanks very much.

That was a clutch goal at the end, killed any notion of Port winning. Never thought he'd find his place in the forward line but well done to him.

From memory Goodwin brought him over with the idea of playing him in defence. That didn't work out, but he's absolutely smoking it in his new role and fast becoming a favourite. All of a sudden I love that punchable head of his. Love his passion too.

If you think about it, paying pick 25 for a steady role player in a Top 8 side is probably a fair deal, despite the early kerfuffles. A similar pick for Hibberd was quite simply highway robbery.

I was sitting up in the top deck right behind Melk when he decided to have a crack. I said to my daughter "He can kick this", and i was actually confident he could.

I carried on like a pork chop when it went through.

She thinks her old man knows heaps about footy players and their abilities now... Silly girl :P

12 goals in his last 5 games.

10 straight games with at least 1 goal.

Anyone still think a 2nd round pick was too much? This guy is a professional and the perfect team player.

He has a wicked boot from long range. Rarely misses.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
