Dermot Brereton is a terrible commentator. He speaks so much shite.

He knows his stuff. He just feels the need to tell us all of it in the one game.

Cross is too slow. Has lots of courage, but every week gets hurt going the other way, unless he can kick 3 goals a game to make up for the goals he leaks. I love his endeavour but we need players that can run both ways. If Matt Jones doesn't play (and I believe he shouldn't who do you replace him with?)

what happened to Spencer ?

Are you asking in the general sense of "what's happened to him, why is he so bad?"

Or are you wondering why he's injured? Because if so he got pushed in a contest and was injured. No free was paid.

I'd replace him with a stick.

Seriously doubt he will be playing next year. Least of our problems anyway.

I reckon Kent will replace him next week DS

The 2nd one :) Thanks Jaded

We have a terribly inexperienced side out there today, playing the ladder leader at their home ground. Too many of our players don't have AFL skills. Our Captain playing his 200th game, has no impact and is off before half time. The umpires as usual are killing us.

Considering all that, I don't think it is so bad, SO FAR.

We aren't very good (you're welcome for that incredible insight).

BUT footy on the TV is ruined by both networks pandering to clubs with bigger supporter bases. We get absolutely annihilated in the commentary, often at times being spoken to in reference to what the opposition team is doing even when running into goal. Meanwhile I've had the misfortune of watching Essendon games on TV over the last few weeks and the way they are spoken about, even though they are struggling, makes me sick. Doggies copped it until this year, Saints get it a fair bit too.

It's just another nail in the coffin of smaller teams, but thats not what annoys me - what annoys me is it's a short sighted strategy, as it actually makes 80% of the games poor viewing, and will damage an audiences interest long term.

Training drill. It's been very very bad.

We can't get our hands on the footy and when we do we can't kick it. It's ugly.

Last game next week, I would play him. Harmes and Brayshaw. Young side, but might be worth a look

Why is Matt Jones even playing?

Whenever Roosy wants "angry" there's only one player to turn to!

Cross is finished . Completely cooked. He spoils his own player in the final line of defence after he was slow to keep up with his man at the opening bounce. Reputations should count for nothing

Who knows. He won't be on the list next year anyway.

Shall I send u the soap wise! That could be construed as super negative. I hope you're prepared for a post match spray!

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
