Come on mate, KC doesn't have a direct line to the MFC medical staff or a medical degree himself, you can't possibly expect an answer, and frankly you're a troll for even asking.

Let it go Stu.....

The Casey Scorpions' game against Collingwood at Victoria Park tomorrow is one of many on the road ahead that are called "8 point games".

Leaving aside their visit to Coburg (13th), a ground where they always seem to have trouble winning, the Scorpions other five games are all against top eight sides. They take on the teams ranked 7th, 8th, 1st, 2nd and 3rd in those games.

I'm expecting them to win tomorrow because of their greater depth of AFL listed players, particularly in the midfield but recent games against the Pies have been close, so expect a good one.

Demon fans will no doubt be interested to see how Christian Salem fares in his first up appearance after a long period out with hamstring injuries. The form of young potential up and comers in Jayden Hunt and Max King will be closely watched as well.

The Scorps also are much stronger this year in terms of their VFL contingent with ex Cat and Demon Shannon Byrnes, former Gold Coast Sun Jack Hutchins, Mitch Gent and evergreen skipper Evan Panozza leading the way. Young midfielder Ed Morris is also handy.

It's a must win game and, as we all know, a win against Collingwood is always a good one irrespective of the margin.

As mentioned above, the game is being broadcast on Casey Radio (97.7) but I'll come in from time to time and report on the game unless called upon by the medical staff to render my assistance.

Could someone please inform what the 23rd player denotes in the VFL? Is it a somehow restricted role - sub-like?

Yeah I don't know, I heard it a couple times today in the Port Melbourne game.

I didn't get it either.

it's the same as the rest of the interchange

it's used for "guest" players. usually young promising players from other junior leagues (not sure of fine details)

Interesting to see Paul Roos'es son Tyler is playing for Casey.

It would be interesting to see how he goes. Might be a good rookie pickup!

Wow, you struggled with that possessive apostrophe!

Cheers DC. Sounds like a work experience gig.

Pretty much is. It gets some TAC players some VFL experience and a chance to test themselves against better competition and audition for AFL or VFL opportunities.

A little nepotistic in this instance.

What's the parking options around Vic Park? Anyone know?

Looking at google maps satellite view, there appears to be parking around three sides of the ground, plus a dirt area that might be doable on the west side. There also appears to b a train stop right outside the ground, so that could be a better option.

Says Jumbo , having "edited" his own contribution .

On the GAMEDAY thread, poster Jane02 said that she learned from her source at Casey that Dean Kent's hammy "was not looking so good after scans early in the week."

That's a bit more than what were learned from the report on the club's website so I don't know how or why posters think that someone enquiring would be able to get a better answer from someone involved with Casey at the ground.

Pretty ordinary. They are doing work at the ground so about 60 car parks are gone. There is vacant space along the rail line but they charge for it. Its a good option if you are going to the MFC game because its right at the station. They patrol around the ground and fines are about $80. The other side of the freeway or Johnson street is pretty safe. Outside the ground is pretty full now as the teams get there early and having just walked past can say you will be lucky to get that close.

No one actually asked anyone to enquire with someone involved from Casey at the ground.

Roosey is here in the stand with family.

Parking right outside the ground was surprisingly good.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
