Check Eberts bowel motions.

I doubt that a motion would provide any solid evidence subsequent to Viney squaring up.

I did read a certain Mr Baum's report on the incidence, he too mentioned movements and whether certain body parts were closed or open.

From what I could ascertain from the  report wasthat the major contribution that was made by Mr Baum was that certain bodilyorifices that were well and truly open.

Mr Baum If you can't discern something shut up.

I see Rancid's pathetic cheap shot on Watts has been forgotten. Only the fact that Viney 'attacked' him remains.

Such balanced reporting   ?

He's a smart kid Jack. So just to be silly and add more weight to conspiracy, I'll say he injured it early first qtr, realised how serious it was, knew that he would miss weeks and require surgery; (ruin any hope of a Brownlow). And when push came to shove, he thought stuff it...I'll give Ebert a few love taps just for kicks and see if I can stir my boys up and pull their finger out, at the same time send a warning out - you want to rough us up?... Here cop this.

Sounds fair.

A far more interesting conspiracy theory than many others to date

You all forget the report that Viney was seen exiting a surgery last week, reportedly about a finger/hand issue. He told reporters it was okay, to forget about it. Any money he went into the game with the issue...

Maybe seed that. Where was it reported?

According to Tim Watson, it happened during the game about 20 minutes after hitting Ebert.

After the game Ebert didn't have any swelling let alone a bruise. If Viney broke his knuckle punching Ebert to the face, Ebert would have had swelling and brushing straight away.

Interesting too that Ebert threw punches but had no case to answer. They appeared to be standing toe to toe and getting stuck into each other.

Good article on Viney on the ESPN website,

I remember just before we drafted him (in the bruise-free era), he was referred to as a 'culture changer'. He is certainly living up to that reputation.

I really think Jack doesn't get talked up as much as he deserved, i personally think he's every bit as good as the Bont, Cripps or any young mid in the comp,

Was on AA pace until he got injured. He's now an elite midfielder of the comp. One of the club's heart and soul players. I reckon one day he'll lift the premiership cup for Melbourne.

I can't say that I was certain he'd become the player or influencor that he has, but the day he was selected as a father-son, slipping through to the 2nd round, I was listening to the Pre-draft Father-Son bidding on the radio while driving between sites.
I actually had to pull over because I was fist pumping that hard that I almost went off the road and I had a few stray tears in my eyes.
I didn't know, but I just had a inexplicably strong feeling that he really would make a difference and it was the start of us getting back on the right path.

Say what you want about Schwab, but I'm glad he circumvented the coaching staff and brought in Todd Viney when he did.

down in the gym he demands that of other people - he demands people put in effort and if someone's lifting and he thinks they could possibly put more on or they could have done another rep, then he'll have no shame in voicing that.

"In terms of leadership in the gym, I think just through his own actions and the way he approaches gym sessions, [he] is a real benchmark for others."

What a change to a few years ago when Melbourne Storm players used to laugh at our approach to gym work.

Put the bloke down for 35+ touches tomorrow night as he will be filthy on his previous effort in NT

We have this one in the bag people...

Rejoice in the knowledge that we have officially arrived!

How could you laugh at Colin Sylvia's bicep curls or Jodan Gysberts bench presses?....oh wait

Really?

Aside from Mark Neeld quotes making me want to vomit, this is such a good article with plenty of insight into the character that is Viney.

I reckon someone else with his unremarkable traits- average height, average speed, average kick, would have turned out to be an ordinary run of the mill player. Instead Viney has become an extraordinarily talented midfielder, one of the best young talents in the competition, not because of his natural gifts, but because he worked harder than anyone.

What a brilliant culture changer to have around.

I look forward to him holding that premiership cup as captain in a few years.

It was a Dermott Brereton tale on SEN. Never substantiated. Though like some rumours, I'm sure there was a kernel of truth in there.

A couple of things I've heard about Jack (albeit third hand):

He's been doing weights since the age of 9.

Jack had a very nasty fall from a tree during a bbq at the Viney house when aged about 3. Todd picked him up and yelled at him "my son does not cry!" right in front of his face.

Shouldn't be a question of valid bumping as this thread should be pinned.

Anyways, at one stage in the Saints match I vaguely recall Viney hit a Saint who careened off another Saint and left them both splayed on the ground - reminiscent of the Tom Lynch-Alex Georgiou carnage. I don't have access to replays. Think it was after half-time. A still would be appreciated here if anyone has the time . . .

Can someone who has better IT skills than me please put a gif/video/image of the look on Stringer's face at half time from Sunday's game in this thread?

He had a "oh [censored], Jack's mad at me, I better tell him I didn't do anything wrong" look about him.

Your wish is my command. Excuse the analogue quality. I'm not Fox.
